I'm thinking of changing from Vodafone to Kogan Mobile just for the price. I know Kogan Mobile uses Voda's network but is it the exactly same as being with Vodafone. Im currently satisfied with the reception with Voda and I dont want to change to Kogan Mobile if its not going to be an identical network. So is being with Kogan Mobile the same bas being with Voda?
So Kogan Mobile customers, what has been your experience with coverage and speed in the past?

coverage wise, Kogan = Voda
also confirmed by their website coverage maps… they are identical (Kogan's map uses Vodafone url… you can see as the page loads)
reception when I was with kogan was fine, I grabed the $5 12gb deal, but I found I used 12gb as fast as I did using 5gb back on the optus. So I was pretty convinced they over charge on the data. Either that or optus under charged. Either way I was surprised how quickly I used 12gb given how little change in usage.
Did you use alot of YouTube or just website browsing? I'm interested to change from Optus to Kogan for my wife.5gb isn't enough due to YouTube so wanted to know your usage if it was similar. Thanks

So you mean video website browsing? :) Otherwise I can't imagine how to browse up 12GB but I did hear a lot of people from vaya complaining about their missing data mystery. I'm with Optus now and thinking about porting to Kogan due to the price.
I don't think I ever said video. Though I know FB and some social media auto loads some small clips, but it can't explain the 12gb. Which is why I am saying when I was with kogan, my data usage did not match my actual usage. And surely didn't match the 5gb I used to get on woolies mobile.

I switched to Kogan Mobile from VF, and also immediately seemed to use up all my data. When I looked online it said I had used 1gb in 5 mins all at exactly the same time. Exceptional speed!!
When I wrote to ask why, they said ", we have checked your usage and we understand the usage is a cumulative system update and is not a real time update"
So basically there is no way for you to check if you are using data or not. They just make it up as you go along.

should be the same, just get a one month plan and test coverage, if no good then port out again, if you like it you have until something like jan 17 to get their 1 year 30% off thing
