I was driving past the Harvey Norman at Aspley today and saw a billboard advertising a brand-new xbox 360 Arcade console for $147.
Went in and picked one up. There is no advertising for it, however I am sure if you get a store to call up, they can price match.
This is even cheaper than the other Harvey Norman xbox deal posted here a few days ago.
Does it really matter? I doubt many stores have any non Jasper boards given thats about a year old or more now and unless you go to the same store you'd get different stock anyway.

These are probably the Xbox from the deal they had with the laptops. However, instead of giving the xbox to the customers, they used it as a bargaining tool to reduce the price, get the xbox and get the same money.

It seems to be specific to each individual Franchise.. I've been to 3 Harvey Norman stores in Melbourne and none of them have either the $169 or $147 xbox360….

I was at Frankston yesterday and they were still full price.
Obviously Frankston HN is not interested in clearing old stock. Good business model :)
the one i went to said they had them but they are keeping them for their laptop and pc sales customers

The challenge here is to hit the point where price and availability are at their optimal. I chose to buy early at $168 while they are still around. I see now I could have waited a day and possibly got it for $19 less. But the risk you start to run is that they will actually sell out soon.
I'm happy with $168, but of course would have been happier with this :)

Nah Innacurate deal, just wasted 1 1/2 hours driving down to Aspley and back after checking with the Morayfield store which are selling them for $188. The Arcades are not $147, they are $199, the elite is $249 with 2 games. The $147 was for last night only

No probs Pauly, found an Onkyo tx-sr608 not the 607 WOW have advertised for $888 (608-3d compatible HDMI 1.4 175 watts per channel and 7.2 channels) at a store near Chermside (10 mins south of Aspley) for $900 so it wasn't a completely wasted trip. Will post deal once I buy it as I had to make sure it would fit my entertainment unit, and I don't want to miss out… RRP is $1500 and JB's best is $1100.
For those still looking for an X-Box, Morayfield Harvey Norman have these for $188.00 but call first….. I'm going to stick with my 500 Gig ps3…..
