Hi, looking for some advice on purchasing a new washing machine for under $500, doesn't have to be too fancy and we don't require a large size. Preference would be front loaded over top (tumble dryer is right above washing machine).

I have an 11 year old LG front loader. 2 or 3 loads a week and it's still going strong.
Get one off gumtree. I have an LG 7kg front loader which I got for 50 bucks two years ago and still works perfectly.
Just got one of the LG ones from Harveys for under 500 using the Amex promo
My uncle's LG front loader lasted barely 3 years. I'm still on a 7.5kg Whirlpool one nearly 9yo.
Did your uncle throw a brick in it to brick it?
I'll definitely suggest an LG. Have been using one from past two years. Love it. It is a bit over your budget, but very well worth stretching it.
