Looking to create a new NAS with 4x6TB NAS HDDs.
WD Reds or equivalents. I'm not super fussy on brands, just as long as the specific models are reliable.
My current system blew up this morning and made a bad smell. If it had blown up 9 hours earlier I could have gotten some cyber monday deals :-/
So now its time to build a new system for added redundancy and hope I can recover the data off of the old one!
Sorry for sidetracking, but wow, blew up? Did all the drives die? Did your NAS go on fire?
The reason I ask is because I also have a NAS in my house and it's on 24/7. Given the heat these days, I'm quite worried about it starting a fire to be honest…
