GST-Inclusive Product from Oversea, and Import Duty?

I'm very confused at the moment. I bought the camera from eBay. The product looks a right because they put AU flag on the product. However, the location was like "Item location: Warranty Service in Australia, Hong Kong". I just ordered it blindly… So the product will send from HK.

It was $3k camera and the product was a GST-inclusive price in the description. I'm not fully understand how GST and import charges works but… If the invoice has a GST inclusive price, I will pay duty charge only, right?

I tried to search this type of thing, I couldn't find any information if I payed GST inclusive price. Please help me if you know anything about this.

Thanks for your time.

What does the invoice say for GST? If it's included, then you have paid the duty.

The advertised price must include tax if the seller is based in AU.
    eBay tax

I think the seller is in au so you will not need to pay any additional tax / duty.
Also the seller also has to provide you with tax invoice with abn & included gst.
This happens if you buy from target / Myer etc eBay stores.
I am not sure of shopping square.
The seller can ship from anywhere.

  • Oh, the order is dispatched. Seller sent me an invoice without GST. (sad face) I will contact them. Thank you all.
