Colour Printer with Scan Function Advice

Hi everyone,

So I currently have the FujiXerox DocuPrint CM115w and it's just ran out of ink, but the ink cartridges are expensive for these things - even the compatible ones.

I'm wondering if anyone has an idea of a better printer model I could switch to - in terms of cheaper ink cartridges.

I would still prefer it to be a colour printer with the ability to scan.

The printer is used on a weekly basis to print up to 10 pages of colour prints as my partner uses it to make cue cards to teach kids Chinese - Prep to Grade 1.

    Can't she print it out at work? But yeah might be worth going for a printer that you can get refillable cartridges.

      The thing is she works at a weekend school and I don't think there's a printer there.
      We have considered Officeworks but not sure if there would be any cost savings, and the inconvenience of going there weekly.

    4 cartridges for $48.50 on eBay. I don't think you will get much cheaper than that no matter which colour printer you get.

      Oh God - I don't know how I missed that one!
      When I did a search before it was giving me prices in the hundreds.. must've had a typo or didn't filter properly.

    Had a look on Choice a while ago for print cost using Inkjet. The HP OfficeJet 8600 was great value in the long term. A full cartridge set cost $150 but last forever.
