Anyone having issues with their Optus cable connectivity? My connection dropped out 5 days ago and upon checking on Optus network status it says there is an 'live outage' and its currently 'under investigation'. However this outage has now been ongoing for 5 days. I got no update, no communication. and this is not the first time it happened. About 5 months ago, another outage went for 4days.i have to figure it out that their network is out.
So I rang the time tech support and of course first thing I get greeted is a recorded message saying they are aware of the outage but they have no ETA in the rectified time. So I went on to speak to a tech person who surprisingly said he can't see any outage in my area. So I assured him that there is. After several minutes of arguing and askingme to unplugged and restarting the modem, he conceded that 'i think there is an outage'.
So I asked what he do for me. His reply angered me further. He said I can credit you $30 for the outage and you can buy a dongle yourself to get online. How ridiculous is this? I don't care about your $30 , just fix the damn outage so I can get back online.
So 6th day on, I am still without internet.
This is my vent for the day. And I want to ask who else is having issues and what did Optus do for you to rectify/ give interim fix and what isp do Oz bargainer have been using and can recommend? I am in postcode 2073 West Pymble.
Yeah that seems a long time. Last year there was a storm near us which a caused a fair few outages near me, but it also fried my modem. Initially they were reluctant to come out as they assumed it was due to an outage but eventually they came out and replaced the modem. Not sure if that is your issue..
