250GB Xbox360 Hard Drive @ GAME $99 (Instore)

110

Looks like this is an in-store only offer.

GAME Oakleigh VIC had at least 2 more at lunchtime today.
Next cheapest I've seen is fishpond for $169. RRP is $199.

Also confirmed at GAME Marion SA (labelled $199 - scanned at $99). Thanks stdanjo for update.

Note that this is not for the Xbox 360 Slim (which has an internal drive).

Edit: marking as expired - since they've probably sold out by now

Might want to add that they are hard drives (as opposed to just Xbox360 Drive) . The title was a little ambiguous as to what it was.

    • Done, thanks.

  • Just about to post it.

Saw it at ecogamer and went to GAME and bought it. They may still label $199 just ask them.

  • so this equals $267 for a 250G Xbox360 elite. good deal.

  • I'd like one but my Game still stocks those 60gb kits at $150. sigh

Did you ask? They will have it inside the room

  • Just heard from my Bro in law that some stores have pre-owned 250Gb drives for $80!!

      $99 new is better.

      • Only if it comes with the Data Migration Kit.

I can confirm that it does come with a data migration kit - all in one blister pack job.

Got one at Marion Game SA last night, they are marked up at $199 got the lady to scan it and bingo $99, surprised her! thanks to the OP for this one.

  • Great bargain, thanks, but can someone briefly explain what the HD is used for in XBOX? I think it may store game configuration and work as a cache for game content? But is it be needed or useful for kids using the XBOX? Kids who probably won't be going on to XBOX Live, who don't want to get their media through XBOX etc.

    • Kids don't need a HD for their Xbox ;)
In fact, most adults don't need one either :D

You can now use any USB thumb drive (up to 16gb) to store game saves.
A 1gb USB can hold plenty of game saves.

      • Thanks, that's what I thought and was hoping, perhaps better to save the money for Kinetic.

        • Not only games saves, you can install games onto hard disk so that it can run faster and quiet.
