Not only are there no reviews, I could not find a single thing about "Signify" online at all?! Anyone dug up anything about this manufacturer?

    • +9

I couldn't find anything either. Nothing to signify their quality.

Hmmm….no reviews or info about the brand. Would not risk buying this.

A branded 1080p tv will probably be clearer than this lol

    • +1

A branded CRT TV would be a better buy. Proceed at your own risk.

Looks very similar design to the Aldi Bauhn 4k Tvs , maybe just a rebadge. Be worth googliing to compare and see

Talked to SE on FB and requested its User manual. I uploaded it here http://www.filedropper.com/ea081555inchmanuali
Can someone confirm it's rebadge of Aldi or so?

Description on SE website says it's made with Samsung panel, but couldn't find this anywhere in the PDF.

That is a ridiculous price. It's probably also a ridiculous TV.

  • Looks similar to DGTEC one…quality could be similar too :/

  • I mean, the TV is /probably/ not very good quality, but it's still cheap.

  • They have a website (http://www.signifyelectronics.com.au/ - retrieved from manual) and also a phone number… Haven't tried the number yet but the website is under maintenance or something.

  • Might have something to do with this place… http://www.unclebills.com.au/

I bought it… Will let you all know how it turns out when I get it

How was it? Deal is back on!

Well, i gave a more detailed description down below… But as an update, i'm actually selling it to a friend, going back to my old TV and buying a PC monitor for my computer instead of using the TV.

If you just want to watch 4K movies on it, it's a great cheap entry… But if you don't have a 4K player, don't bother. I'd say it's made from the same parts as Kogan TV's are… terrible viewing angle btw

You can pay similar for better looking 1080p TV's if image quality (resolution aside) is what you're looking for… Or possibly a 1440p TV

    • Samsung A panel

Misleading. A-Panels are inferior 3rd party panels which are used in Samsung TV's, but they certainly are not Samsung panels.

A-Panels are manufactured by AU Optronics. (and no, that's not AU for Australia)

Great price for a 4K TV of this size, but I will have to vote the other way to draw attention to the fact that it's being sold as something that it is not. Sorry.

Well… Got it today, using it to see what i'm typing. ;)

So far so good… 3840 x 2160 is sexy, think the highest resolutions are capped at 60Hz, will try 1440p shprtly. Haven't had much play time with it yet. Having trouble getting the colours to look great, looks alright so far. Website's up and running: www.signifyelectronics.com.au

Might try updating the firmware and having more of a fiddle…

For now, i'll say that it's probably best suited for someone like me… I had a 5-6 year old model Sony Bravia, 1080p 60Hz, using it mostly for gaming and movies. Wanted an upgrade to 4K.

I'll update after a longer fiddle.

Well, colour isn't amazing. Very difficult to get the image to a point I could sit comfortably with… [which by the way, was done with my PC settings too, so if you're relying completely on the TV's settings, you're in trouble.]

You're getting about what you've paid for with this one… For me, i'm happy, as it's an upgrade from my last and well within my budget.

Signify customer service is dog shit by the way.

      • Also… This is where the 'customer service' is located:

Thanks for your feedback so far.

I wouldn't expect too much for it. You said the colour isn't "AMAZING", but is it ACCEPTABLE and CLEAR (I mean not pixelated, washed colour or blurry even with full HD or 4K source) for watching TV or movies?

How does it compare to your previous 5-6 year old Sony Bravia 1080p?

Can you take some pictures of it?

        • +1

It's very acceptable and very clear… But viewing from an angle you can see some light leakage, blotches between lights and darks. 45° angle is all it takes to see it, so it's no good if you're not planning on sitting right in front of it.

Movies look amazing in 4K! and in 1080p of course…

Firstly, my Sony was LCD… Model No: KDL-40BX450
Having had my Bravia for so long, using it every day, I'm extremely used to the picture and colour of it. Colours on the Signify are extremely vibrant, especially green. Had to turn my green values down via my PC. It's more vibrant than i'm used to, and stands out when looking at some websites or familiar interfaces. But I expect that's at least partly due to the LED factor?

I can take some pictures, the TV is on a black cabinet with a dark wall behind it, so it'll be hard to see the frame. And I tried taking pictures of the image to show the viewing angle, but it comes up with horizontal lines up close.
