Steggles Frozen Turkey Breast Roast 1kg $8.50 (Was $24.20) @ Coles

730

No idea why these are so cheap, usually $24.20, now $8.50 for the 1KG pack. The cheapest previous special was $17. This seems to have just started today.

It's available Australia wide according to Coles online and in store as well.

2KG Inghams available for $16 for those who prefer thanks Japius.

Wow, they must have over ordered for 'Australian Thanksgiving' - this is so cheap.

Only 75% actual Turkey, but I really like the flavour of these roast rolls. Anyone have a good deal on a Freezer so I can stock up?

    • The box makes it look like you get a turkey breast … whats the other 25 %

        • Oh no, I had ordered 4 of them from Coles online to be collected tomorrow, but I've just cancelled the order. I hope I'll be able to sleep tonight and not think about all those turkey bits.

@Scrooge McDuck: No, lips from other animals and possibly humans. (Employees from steggles who asked for a pay rise)

        • @jackwoz:

          As opposed to chicken nipples?

        • @Scrooge McDuck: Them sweet sweet tasty chicken nipples

We prefer the Inghams turkey breast. Went to Coles in Adelaide CBD and they were listed for $32 each (2kg), went home to check and bought 2 x 2kg for $32. Not sure if it is an error, but normally these go for around $40. So we have a couple of spares now.

The Steggles turkeys roasts are terrible, we got a seasoned one one Christmas and will never make that mistake again. Tasted disgusting.
Inghams taste better and seem to be higher quality.

$2 will be deposited in to your bank account.

        Its honest mate.
And just noticed the box is promoting a new recipe.
They do not do that without good reason….

Reconstituted ground up turkey? No thanks.

Yep. I got one of these once and it was inedible due to the salt. No-one could eat it, that's 4 adults and even kids who usually eat everything spat it out.

I complained to Steggles, got a $10 GC, didn't cover the cost but better than nothing. Not buying again. Not sure if it was a bad batch but unless you pour salt in your food by the ton steer clear of this "product".

  • The discount seems good but given that chicken breasts are only $9/kg at full price, $8.50 still seems expensive.

2.1kg whole ducks in the same section for $11.50, which is half price, 1/2 off, or 50% cheaper than normal.
Grabbed a few and a few boxes of the Inghams turkey breast.
From reading the box, it appears the majority of the remaining percentage is what colloquially is known as… gravy!
Yep, it suggested that there's no nipples in these for those hoping for a bit of breast and tit action at the dinner table.

  • Geelong city Coles scanned up as $16, showed them the online price and they fixed it up.
So I got two boxes for $8.50 thanks to the scanning error freebie!
