hi, just wondering with these particular headphones, do you just have to purchase only these to operate them in game? I read somewhere you need to buy some sort of adaptor? what is that used for?
Sorry for all the questions, relatively new to this…Yup, you do require an adaptor to operate these, however good news is the headsets come with the Offical Microsoft stereo headset adaptor (which is RRP 35 on its own!), so you will be covered.
It's pretty much a buy and you are set with in game audio as well as Xbox live communication.
Also for the newer Xbox One controllers that have the 3.5 mm jack built in you actually don't even need the adaptor, just plug the headset directly in. You do however lose the convient mute and volume toggles on the adaptor if you go this route, but even if you have the 3.5 mm controller, use the adaptor anyway to get those controls since the headset comes with it!

I'm in the same boat. The best I could see is the Polk 4 headset for about 50 delivered, however that's the ebay tech frenzy sale rather then the 10th anniversary sale. I'm still holding out but will probably grab one, there's about 4 left and the sale ends 24th.
