What's Biltong?

Biltong is air-dried beef jerky, made from 100% Aussie Beef Topside, preservative-free.
Low in fat and super-high in protein, it's the perfect any-time snack.
Unlike normal jerky, our biltong is also available in soft varieties, which are easier to chew, and also dry varieties, which are a bit more tough. Which do you prefer: tough or soft?

The Biltong/Jerky Snapsticks are slightly tough like conventional jerky. Flavours:

The Traditional Biltong is available in 'moist' or 'dry' and is less tough than jerky. Flavours:

Biltong.com.au is probably Australia's most popular online retailer of biltong, trading since 2007.

We're a small business, and appreciate your support.

Should have lifted some weights to take advantage of all that 'tein.

        • I should have. That would have made me a beefy man.

    • About 20 years inside your stomach.

As others point out, many people eat the biltong really quickly.
      But to answer your question:
We don't add any preservatives to prevent mould, so the biltong must be kept "dry", or else frozen.
It freezes and thaws really well, and will last indefinitely in the freezer.
If not freezing, you simply take the biltong out of its plastic bag and keep it in the fridge (no plastic or Tupperware containers!) where it will last for several weeks, but continue to slowly dry out.
If keeping out of the fridge: Remove all plastic, and keep it dry, such as in a paper sandwich bag.
      Cheers

      • Can I keep it in tupperware inside of the freezer? I didn't realise how big 1kg was!

        • If it's going in the freezer you can use a tupperware.
If going in the fridge: no air-tight containers such as tupperware. Rather leave it unsealed in the fridge.
If out of the fridge: keep dry and allow to 'breathe'. Paper bags are recommended.

        • @biltong2go:

Cheers, how long does it last in the fridge? Should dry last a long time like jerky?

        • @maybeamacy: Yes in theory, it can last indefinitely in the fridge. All depends on whether it can 'breathe' and be kept dry.

Never had this before but always saw your deals and wanted to try, finally bit the bullet and ordered a kg lol

  • Hi Biltong2Go, great deal. Any chance of say 250g lots of lemon pepper and chilli chutney? I'm fairly new to jerky and wanted to try out a few different things. The lemon pepper sounds delicious, but I'm not sure I want to commit to 500g of any one thing.

Great deal, just placed an 3 kg order

  • where abouts do you the coupon code ?

    • +1

On the checkout page there is a spot.

  • How moist is moist biltong? I had some jerky I bought at a car show the other week (Jim's jerky from QLD) and it was hard as buggery and pretty tasteless (sorry Jim).

    • It has three different levels. I've found it to be much more wet than Jim.

      • Thanks Clear, when we're talking kilo bags every bit of info helps.

  • Ordered, thanks.

Ordered 3kg haha, big fan here!

    Hooray Stokkies

  • Can't seem to get the coupons to work properly…

    • Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you can clarify what was not working?
      1. The coupons are entered during checkout (not on the cart page itself)
      2. Unfortunately the coupons do not stack. This means you can only apply 1 coupon per order.
      Thanks!

      • Coupon would not apply at all. Sorry - looks like i missed out, i'll have to wait until next time.

        Thanks.

  • I can't get the coupon to work either: "This code did not match any active gift card or discount."
