GearBest had a special at the time this thread was started. They were going to show codes at 12pm for a limited item sale. People were possibly refreshing OzBargain, trying to get the codes.
OzBargain is broken at the moment, and the backend will be restarted "very very soon".
HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY OZBARGAIN!!! Have a non intended DDoS attack from its members going crazy refreshing the pages lol….
So far not impressed with any of the 'deals'
deals are ok but not what we are expected probably.
10 years marks the end of OzBargain and its entry into the mainstream.
Much the same way as websites Catch of the Day had an eventual demise…
The deals OzBargain had many years ago were miles better than what they are now - OzBargain is pretty much a shopping focus Reddit.

I just never had the need to register an account, but I was here in the early days of Catch/Zazz/OO/Grays/Oztion/Others where there were good bargains to be had. Again, its becoming all too commercialised, much like the Facebook/Morning Show articles about Cashreward website were supposedly people can make $$$,000's. Even if there are any bargain, the public visibility of Ozbargain is too great, and having no requirement to contribute back to the community somewhat ruins it (from the bargain leeches).
Just need to find what the next niche community is…

Sorry about that, it wasn't just you. There was an issue with this morning's newsletter, some registered users didn't receive it (also Sunday mornings). I believe it's all fixed now for tomorrow.
Afternoon & evening newsletter subscribers weren't impacted.
There is a morning, afternoon & evening newsletter. Morning newsletter is default, you can choose either one. Settings > subscription > newsletter.
How about.. Unsubscribing? Why sign up to something you don't want?
I don't get a single email from Ozb, still use the site all time time, settings are easy to change…

Is it worth putting a link on the front page - like we had all these days ?You should have a big red floating banner at the bottom of the site, highlighted in red for the Birthday sale, similar as what we had for ClickFrenzy. Click that anytime for easy access to the event page.
That red banner should have been on top for better visibility :)

It was very slow for an hour or two just before noon. Scotty made some fixes and traffic reduced a little so it's been fine for some time now.
I feel the same too, the deals on here these days are quite poor at best. Feel like it's been this way for the past 2 to 3 years. So rare for a good deal to pop up. Not sure why things have gone down hill…
I can't agree with that. There are still some fantastic deals here, the difference is that the site is way more popular and really good deals sell out within minutes.
Well yes that is an issues as well, however just look at the main page on here, most days its all what I call 'filler deals'.
Maybe it's your turn to find the community some great deals?
My only beef is the fact I changed my newsletter to 'evening' due to the helpful comments on here and never received an email today, neither in the morning or the evening.. :( (changed it the day before)
I'll ask scotty to check into that for you in the morning, there was a couple of other users reporting issues too.
We did have some problems with newsletters on Sunday & Monday but it should already be fixed yesterday. Just checked the logs and everything is delivered properly. Try check your junkmail folder :)

Free drinks for all engineering staff.Thanks for the reply! I checked it and I did get an email.. at 2.09AM 24th Nov (for 23rd Nov's) and 6.49AM 23rd Nov (for 22nd Nov's newsletters). Is that how the evening ones are supposed to work? I thought if I selected evening then in the evening (say 5pm-11pm) I would get a newsletter for that day's deals… Please let me know if I should switch back to morning or maybe trying afternoon.
The evening newsletter comes at 7pm each day, however we've identified there is an issue with your email provider delaying users receiving our emails. See this comment, that user and other effected users are using the same email provider as yourself. Hopefully they will fix it up soon.
Yeah whole site is running pretty bad at the moment.
