Tips for Carpet Cleaning?

Just moved into a huge two storey house with loads of carpet some bathroom tiles and a kitchen with I think is like laid down flat floor wallpaper or covered cement it wood but basically not open wood carpet tile or linoleum gravel etc.

Going to probably get a Miele vacuum cleaner to replace this dying broken one as i heard lots and lots of praise for it but as far as the other necessary carpet cleaning and maintaining duties such as steam mopping / washing / scrubbing / sanitising etc probably some that I may have missed ( instead of just sucking up the physical bits of dirt and debris ) what products and appliances tools etc should I consider buying to use

I basically want to wash my carpet but have no idea how to

It is starting to get itchy and showing visible marks from inside shoes (I know very very bad) so I need a good solution fast

Ozbargain any tips on how to clean your carpet?

    • Know any good ones in Sydney?

  • some supermarkets have those carpet shampoo machines for hire

  • I hired a carpet cleaner from Bunnings yesterday and was happy with the results. They have two models available for hire: One which is suited to large open spaces and the other which has a hose and pipe which is better suited to getting under beds and tables.

The machines are pretty powerful and sucked a surprising amount of dirt and fluff out. To get it really clean you can keep going over the carpet until the waste water comes out clean.

The cost is around $38 for 24 hours or $47 for 48 hours, plus $100 deposit and about $20 for the shampoo and defoamer. Book in advance and take along proof of ID

  • I recommend that you use dry carpet cleaning since it can be done in as fast as 1 hour. There are several carpet cleaning companies that offer affordable rates. I recommend ChemDry City & Metro Carpet Cleaning for their fast drying carpet clean Sydney-wide. Request a quote online by visiting https://www.citymetrocarpetcleaning.com.au/
