Win a Double Pass to TEDxSydney Salon at Two International Towers, 24th November 2016

By popular demand drawn from the close knit community of TEDsters, TEDxSydney have announced their inspired new event series, TEDxSydney Salons. The curated series of intimate events will be held across the year, combining talks, films and music, with the series of Salons to be hosted at Tower Two, International Towers.

The second Salon focuses on the theme of art and culture and takes place on 24 November at Two International Towers.

The lineup includes sculptor Jennifer Mann whose forensic facial reconstruction, combined with CT scanning and 3D printing technology recreated the face of a 2000-year-old Egyptian mummy; composer and artist Lawrence English investigates the ways in which we hear sound, delving into the subconscious choices that we make when we listen; plus architect Shaun Carter puts forward a case for the preservation, adaptation or reuse of brutalist architecture and will demonstrate the value of some of Australia’s iconic Brutalist buildings. We also chat to dancer Amrita Hepi, whose 2016 TEDxYouth@Sydney talk encouraged us to be confident and comfortable in our bodies; and we round the evening out with live music, short films and a post-event chance to enjoy sunset drinks and discussion with fellow TEDx community members.
