Anyone Found Any Mobile Plans That Are Worth It Overall?

Hey everyone,

Now most of us know that mobile plans are generally more expensive in the long run for the price of the phone. I'm wondering if anyone had found a plan though that has the positives out way the negatives though. I've listed below what I would think are points for both sides.

Cons:
The cost of the plan over 24 months usually adds up to paying a higher price for the phone.
The plans are worse (voice and text amount wise) than prepaid plans for the same price.
Data is usually low and we've seen in the prepaid plans the slow but steady rise of additional data onto plans; plans are stuck on your allotted data amount for usually 24 months though.
Phone has depreciated in value by end of plan.

Now I've never been on a plan so I don't know all the benefits but if their was one that offered lets say..

Pros:
Similar pricing as prepaid plans for amount offered.
Replacement of phone for fraction of price if broken, lost or stolen.
Caring for customer; long time customer benefits. For example a discount or something on other products available or for ones next plan.
Maybe a 12 month plan as the rise of included data could correlate with this than.
*Lower pricing for optus and vodafone considering higher congestion and lower overall availability country wise.

Now if any plans included the above I would seriously consider it. Has anyone had any luck finding one with any of the telcos.*
Has anyone found a telco company they feel respects them finance wise and customer service wise. Or has anyone just found a damn great deal they'd like to share to maybe prompt some hope in me for looking through plans.

Or I'm I looking for the treasure of the sierra madre. (I should really go watch that movie now if I'm gonna quote the title)

    what's your point?

this is such a meaningless post.

I might as well post "Anyone Found Any cars That Are Worth It Overall?"

and then post some pointless things - must have tires, should go forward AND backwards, petrol is similar price to diesel, it has to have seats, and do what I need it for, and must have features,….

          Oh right, missed the username

    • A more accurate title might be:

"Buying a Phone Outright or on a Plan? Is it Ever Better to Buy a Phone on a Plan?!?"

And I feel like this typo is worth correcting:

      positives out way the negatives

      Should be outweigh.

    • I should have listed the title as ínherentchoice has explained and would have had more definition of the post. (Does editing a post become restricted after a while or am I blinded to the edit option).

As to the 'pointless things'; I wrote a generalised view of pros and cons people take into account when comparing the buying outright to a plan and therefore hoped people who had options to suggest, could relate to it and see if viable.

Now, knowing how I meant it, could a helpful suggestion on improvement be made instead of dejection. Cheers
