So I'm about to purchase my first ever gaming console but I would like to get the best price available. Assuming I'll get the ps4 pro before the year ends, when would it be the most opportunistic time to purchase one?
When Will It Be The Right Time to Purchase a PlayStation 4 Pro?

10 minutes ago. You missed out
Negs are so harsh!
… after buying an Xbox One?? :D
No. Wait! After buying a decent PC and spending your excess budget on Steam games at 80% off! (Speaking from experience…)
Oh but I do have a gaming pc haha. I want to see the best of both worlds (console gaming and pc gaming).
Buy an old Dell Optiplex microITX, slap in a GTX 1050 Ti, slide in a 128GB SSD and update to Windows 10
… call it a day.You could literally have a Gaming PC that could look sleek in your Home Theatre setup.
And you could do it from $300 - $600… pretty much same/cheaper than a PS4 Pro/Scorpio.
Especially after Steam sales etc etc kick in.But you're gonna miss out on console exclusives.
For instance, The Last of Us.And there will be titles that are optimised for consoles, but not PCs.
For instance, Arkham Knight. And there will be delays in games coming out.
For instance, GTA V.
Initially came out on consoles in Sep 2013.
Then re-released for new-gen consoles in Nov 2014.
And only hit PC on Apr 2015…. about 1.5 years after initial launch.PC Gaming is great as well. I'm waiting for Star Citizen for my next upgrade. PC will be a small form factor.
I find myself playing the PS4 more than my PC due to the fact that I just want to be on the couch with a controller and away from my PC. It's too big to lug into the lounge as well. I've done some steam streaming which worked well.
I'm a PC gamer but you're not gonna have excess budget after buying a PC that's better than a PS4 Pro (compared to simply buying the PS4 Pro).
@Switchblade88 got the right idea and the 80% off is to accurate
Not necessarily, you won't be getting out of a decent gaming pc build for under $1k…at the very least.
Right before PS 5 is released :-)
soon after ps5 is released
When you have money and don't mind losing…say…$50+ when a better deal comes out in a few months.
I sold my PS4 1TB for $350 and just upgraded straight away to a PS4 Pro for $200.
Then bought the PSVR.
How's the PSVR treating you?
Probably after Xmas :p
