Looks like the base model without touch bar.
I would rather get either last year's model with more port options or this year's with touch bar.
New Model Macbook Pro 13" with no Touchbar 8gb/256gb for $1979 Pickup @ good guys.
and JBHIFI is currently doing 10% off all macs…so its pretty much the cheapest with the jacked up price :|
Worth noting that these guys aren't Apple Authorised Resellers. For piece of mind, if you want a cheap price, I would go through Officeworks and get them to price match JB Hi-Fi - that brings it down to $1879.20.
I've never been asked for a receipt for my apple gear when taking it in for service at an apple store. I've even had stuff repaired after the two year warranty expired.
can TRS? thanks
Providing your name and address is on the tax invoice yes.
Officeworks price match with %5 off?
They Will Pricematch / Pricebeat JBHIFI's 10%
but they do not pricematch/beat ebay prices
Thanks ully
damn good price!
Seller also only has 70 feedback….
Not to disparage the seller but it is worth noting 67 of those 70 feedback scores were 'During past month' and only three were 'During past 6 months', so impossible to yet see if they will turn out to be a good/great seller.
Paypal has your back
Anyone know if there is anywhere/any way to get a specced up new Macbook Pro other than the apple site? All the retail stores seem to just carry the base models…
Can someone who knows about computers tell me how it compares with Dell XPS15?? Are the MacBook any good for gaming? I don't really play games anymore but would like to know if it has the ability to play the latest ones. Main uses would be for writing documents and photoshop. Just always heard the Macbook are not good value for what you get, and what sort of use would justify going up to the higher specked models?
Macs are becoming much better value for money.
These days a $600 laptop can have the same specs(CPU, Ram, hard drive) as a $2000 laptop. For example the most recent Lenovo deal vs a dell xps13… $500 vs $2k. You end up paying for things such as the screen resolution, size, weight, battery life - all things which Macs are really good at.
Go talk to someone at an apple store and see if you can spend some time on a display model.
I personally love my iPhone but for my PC I run windows. I've never given Mac a proper attempt but I assume for the type of user I am - it will be quite restricting (CAD software, remote desktop, games here and there).
Thanka. I'm kinda hoping Lenovo will have a nice laptop for the Ozbargain sale around $1000 with great specs, some of their offering seem to be well designed, slim and light. I always loved the look of MacBook and would like to try Apple for a change but just not sure about dropping so much cash when it may not be necessary.
Are the MacBook any good for gaming? <<< NO, due to the Intel Iris Graphics 540
The XPS15 got NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M with 2GB GDDR5 , OK for gaming
If you install windows on the mac, then you'll be able to run games at basic settings, but nothing high res or high quality.
You're paying mostly for the user experience of macOS (smooth, everything is synced across Apple devices, great trackpad, don't have to worry about viruses), Apple customer service, and the design.
If you want raw specs and don't care about looks or warranty or build quality then a windows laptop can be had for a lot cheaper than the MacBooks.
looks like i am too slow - i think they bumped it up to $2,621.99 and 20% off is now $2097.59 :S
Also out of stock.
so my laptop just arrived. it was a brand new strink-wrapped with a harvey norman sticker.
Store just price jacked to $1839.99.
Still a good price but is it Au stock?
