Oppo F1s or Kogan Agora 6 Plus 4G Lte or ?

I currently have an iPhone 4s and have been looking for a new phone. I would like a bigger screen and I mainly use it for sms & phone calls & web browsing & the occasional photo.
I was looking at the Xiaomi phones but all that flashing, boot loading and rooting seems like too much for me.
I prefer to buy Australian stock & warranty; a phone that will work out of the box, with the occasional update is about all I can manage.

After looking here on Ozbargain, I thought maybe the Oppo F1s looked good

then Kogan has there Agora on special

And if you have any other suggestions; much appreciated.

TIA

Just to say that if you wanted the Oppo F1S don't pay $293 for it through that CF deal.

See OPPO F1S product page. You may be able to get it $249 for Kmart (give your local a call), otherwise it'll probably be $287.20 tomorrow when the next 20% off eBay deal is on. It is $259 from Optus but that's locked with Optus, with unlocked option not much more it's the best option for most. OPPO is a good option, others might know something about the Kogan, never looked at it.

The Motorola Moto G4 Plus is another good option but no deals at Aus retailers at the moment. A little more expensive, for the comparable 32GB/3GB model it will mid $300s at least for Aus stock. However you do get a newer version of Android with updates, OPPO use older android with their own skin over the top (works well but not what most prefer).

Can't really recommend Nexus 5X because Aus stock has always been mid $400s which is too much for a phone with 2GB RAM of that age I believe with other options like the Motorola around, even overseas stock the Moto G4 Plus still looks the better value.

    • Thanks Hamza23, I'm with TPG at the moment so I will definitely stay clear of the Optus Oppo.
Thanks for the eBay 20% off link - I'm thinking that might be the way to go.
Will also look at the Moto too. I have read about Oppo it's older android & the Oppo skin that they put over it - I'm hoping that it's not a big problem and Oppo may release an android update??!?!?

      • I'm also stuck with the same decisions - I need three for presents for kids. I love the look of the OPPO, but wondering if the Motorola will be better in the long term (the kids will not be getting new phones for a few years as far as I know).

      • Here's the deal for $287.20 OPPO F1s

I wouldn't hold your breath for any android update on the OPPO, however people have said their OS is quick and has their own stuff added in on top.

        • Thanks, I just found out my sister bought directly from their website last night and they shipped the items this morning (she bought three phones and three headphones). I actually tried to persuade her to get the Motorola deal instead.

        • @luztra:

Ah oh well, only $5 more expensive in yesterday's click frenzy. At least they are AU stock, compared to the Motorola deal so if something goes wrong it should be less of a hassle.

        • @hamza23: Yeah I guess, and she is not technically minded at all (and her husband is even worse). The only thing that worries me is that they are leaving them in the box until the 23rd of December when I fly over for Christmas and they will have me set them up for the kids, so if something is wrong with the phone it is outside the 30-day website warranty and needs to be sorted out with the manufacturer.

          @luztra:

Yeah might suggest she at least powers them on just for the 1% chance they come dead on arrival, if the screen turns on just power back off and put back in the box. Power button is on the right side of the phone near the top I believe.

        • @hamza23: Thanks for the tip! :)
