GF and I are trying to find something that's not outrageous for flights from Brisbane to Paris/London Return from 19 Dec-5 Jan.
Is there any possibility of a last minute deal popping up online? Or do we just have to bite the bullet and fork out the cash.
What are the best websites to use/watch?
I just had a look too. Note I put 5 Jan as the date of departure of the flights returning to Australia, as opposed to date arriving back into Australia. Not sure if that's what you were after?

For BNE-LON 19Dec-5Jan:
$2647 on China Southern
$1969 on Lufthansa/Thai for 21Dec-8Jan
Pretty sure those prices are in US Dollars.
Edit: Okay my bad they're not.
I find that skyscanner usually finds the best prices.
It's coming up as $1707 if you go via Melbourne and Shanghai with China Eastern.

And that arrives back in BNE on 5 January.
I can't recall ever seeing great deals for those dates..
You could try Skyscanner or Kayak websites for the best deal.. I had a look and for those dates $1923 seems to be the lowest fare.
And you may have to consider a low class of airline to get the cheapest deal or be a bit flexible with the dates..
