Remote Panic Alarm (Not a Personal Alarm)

Just wondering if anyone can help please!

The neighbors were broken into yesterday day time (waited until both cars left for the day then climbed through tiny open window).

My wife's pregnant and staying at home most days, i'm paranoid now as it looks like they were watching our houses/street for patterns.

Anyway, I'd like to get an alarm for my wife where she can carry a 'fob/keyring' which will turn sound a siren that's wired into the wall. Maybe with a couple of speakers around the house or our front. I wouldn't trust a little battery powered thing (or one of those rape alarms), i'd prefer something more fixed/powerful. It's more for if someone does come into the house while she's there.

Does anyone of anything like this? I don't really want to go the full way of installing a home security system as it's rented and she's usually home all day (doesn't work/works from home).

I'm already looking for a baseball bat this weekend, and if anyone jumps over our fence now they'll get a rusty nail through the foot.

  • Hi,
    I have just ordered:
    http://www.raa.com.au/insurance-and-security/personal-alert-…

This obviously isn't a bells and whistles "siren" alarm, but may be worth considering as it doesn't involve a full alarm fit-out to a rental property.

Otherwise, keep the TV or a Radio on, check your Doors and Windows are locked or sufficiently closed, and don't leave Mail or Newspapers on the front lawn…

Could you ask a neighbour to park their Car in your Driveway or out the front while you are out for the day?
