FREE $5 Membership Signup Voucher @ Discount Drug Stores

22

Deal is back again! Not sure why the previous one was marked as expired seeing as though this doesn't require a cc.

I was browsing the site, next minute I got a popup saying 'free $5 voucher for signing up' etc.

You will instantly be given $5 membership credit which you can use in your online order. Make sure you select "Store Pickup" at checkout and apply the voucher by ticking the checkbox otherwise the delivery fee would kill the deal.

I've found a few items under $5, sites loading really slow so I couldn't search much :-(

Colgate Toothbrush Zig Zag Flexible Soft

Colgate Toothpaste Triple Action + Free Toothbrush

Colgate Plax Mouthwash Freshmint 250ml

Colgate Toothpaste Sensitive Pro Relief Whitening

Dove Bar Regular White x6

You get free hacking service too when you buy online.

No transparency on investigation and hacking issue.

Don't use your cc then, only buy something up to $5. I'm sure the sites protected now anyway.

For those of you that are wondering what happened in the previous deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265480)

Why are you sure? They sure don't care, the responses I received indicated that they expect to be hacked again as they claim they will always be one step behind the hackers.

In my opinion Discount Drug Stores should be banned from this site over this breach of trust.

You literally copied and pasted the body from my previous deal, which the mod had included a warning at the top and bottom of the deal, in large bolded font, and somehow you still missed it.

That makes the chances of other members scrolling down to the comments section and seeing your warning "Don't use your cc then, only buy something up to $5" pretty slim. Better to just not let other members see it in case they partially pay for items and have their card details leaked (like what happened to a group of us).

Why bother? $5 is not worth having your credit card details and personal information stolen along with all the pain that goes with having to replace credit cards and the hassles of having your identity stolen.

They still haven't come clean on what occurred and from what I can ascertain they logged every credit card transaction to a text file on their web server for at least a fifteen month period. Every card detail was included including the CVV.

Weak laws in this country mean that the consumer wears the costs and there are no ramifications for Discount Drug Stores.

Agree with most of what you said buy why does the consumer wear the cost? We file a chargeback with our credit card provider and get reimbursed (eventually)

Unless you're referring to the indirect cost of the credit card charges coming back to us in the form of reduced rewards, higher interest rates (shouldn't be applicable to ozbargainers), higher annual fees, etc.

I wasted at least five hours updating credit card details online, dealing with failed payments and had to bring forward some monthly payments costing me money.

If your identity is stolen this can cost you tens of thousands easily and the organisation responsible for releasing your details doesn't have to pay a cent. In the US fur example they have to pay for things like credit monitoring and alerts so you are informed as soon as anyone applies for credit in your name.

And these breaches cost us all as the banks and credit card companies wear the cost and pass it on. Discount Drug Stores should be responsible for all costs and I don't care if this leads to their closure. Security of customer information should not be seen as an unnecessary expense but something that they take very seriously.

  • Do not provide your credit card details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or all your money will be stolen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is this true? I recently saw an unauthorised transfer in my nab cc and reported to nab then claimed the money. I can now realise that this is caused by discount drug stores
