Telstra Cable Gateway. Max Modem

We have 2 of these sitting in my drawer.
No-1 was installed 3 months ago. Then it played up and Telstra sent a new set, complete with cables and all at.
Installed No-2 but still won't work. Same issue: turns all lights to red after 20-50 minutes, no intent whatsoever. Reboot and get another 20-50 minutes. Rang Telstra which happily sent out third one. Must admit service was first class. All delivered within a few days.
No-3 installed and now happily sits on my desk.

My question is : what do I do with the two? They are practically brand new. Can someone fix it? Or use as parts?

    One company that I'd definitely like to set improve their electronic waste program considering how easily they replace these and never organise much for a faulty one.

      Worst still, I'm one of the shareholders. .. Not very sustainable.
