Dr Oetker pizzas are pretty decent tasting and when on sale are great value.

Yes, often add some streaky bacon or pancetta to the Mozzarella pizza to crisp up. And italian sausage and red onion works nicely on the quattro formaggi :)
I think they taste good on their own with perhaps a little extra cheese - anything more would defeat the purpose of a quick and easy meal.
I don't think adding some herbs, cheese or bacon makes it any less quick or easy.

I like to add baby rocket/spinach (raw) and rosemary on pizza. Unfortunately for me, dried/cured ham like Parma ham is off budget…
I can't bring myself to buy them. They used to cost £1.50 at Tesco when I lived in the U.K. Australia tax resentment kills me.
I agree that they are overpriced when not on special - I generally only stock up when $3.75 (half price).

Yes they are German. They also make custard powders and puddings. There are more varieties in German supermarkets.
I add some marinara mix sprinkled with fish flavouring to the four cheese pizza. I stock up on them when half price and sometimes get a rain check for unavailable flavours to purchase for up to a month afterwards.

frozen pizza is horrible. I get the wife to make up some dough and then top it with whatever I feel like
I flood mine with anchovies. And grated cheese.
