Interesting recent article from Point Hacks that confirms what I spotted in the T&Cs for the Platinum Charge card awhile back:

In a nutshell, American Express have made a subtle change to their offer terms and conditions to allow existing credit card holders to earn points for charge card applications, and vice versa - as 'charge' and 'credit' cards are now considered different offerings. The other change is that Personal and Business cards have also been separated, allowing holders of Personal cards to be eligible for points bonuses on Business cards, and vice versa. Keith from Point Hacks has stated that these changes have been directly confirmed with AMEX.
While most existing card holders find they receive bonus points anyway when they sign up for a new product, this is now 'guaranteed' when applying for a different card type. This is good news for any existing credit card holders who are considering signing up to the Platinum charge (100,000 AMEX MR points on sign up), or Platinum Business card (150,000 AMEX MR points on sign up), but want full reassurance that they'll definitely receive the bonus points before taking the plunge.
Thanks Champ. I might get a Qantas point earning Amex.
Is it worth ditching the Law Society of NSW with Zero Annual Fee Card for life. I've had it for years it was my first card. For some reason you cannot convert points to Qantas points. Is there are way to transfer AirNZ airpoints dollars to Qantas points?
