I Need a Decent Wireless Keyboard and Mouse for Office

Hi Guys,

I work long hours in an office and I am at the PC all day long and do a lot of typing. I've previously had a wired mouse and keyboard, but I've moved to wireless, but the mouse/keyboard combo I have is not working for me. I currently have a Logitech MK235. It is good as the battery lasts for ages, because it's the type without a red-glowing laser, which drains batteries fast, but I find that both the keyboard and the mouse are far too small, so the mouse feels awkward (needs to be a bit bigger) and the keyboard is problematic in that I am constantly hitting two keys at once as I type, so I have to keep correcting typo's in my work.

My budget is up to $100 total, for the mouse/keyboard combo.

Thanks in advance!

Instead of buying a combo, you should buy a Logitech MX master and pair it up with your wireless keyboard of choice (whether it be another Logitech KB to take advantage of unifying dongle, is your choice).

the MX master is a pricey mouse, normally $95 but on sale it's around $75 or so.
    very popular amongst ozbargain

It is the successor to the very good Logitech M950 / M950T (also called the Performance MX in some regions) I have this mouse for around 2 years already.

The m/KB is your main interaction with a computer so I would recommend getting something that works really well, rather than getting something that's cheap and dodgy. Most $100 combo's wouldn't be much of an improvement over what you have.

    • +1 to the Performance MX.

As for the keyboard I would go to office works and try out a few. $100 isn't enough for both a keyboard and mouse.

  • Wise word scrimshaw, thanks for the idea.

I work long hours in an office and I am at the PC all day long and do a lot of typing.

If you spend lots of time on the one activity, don't skimp on the tools.

Wireless keyboards are fine, but if you are typing lots have you tried a mechanical keyboard? I can count the minutes I spend away from my keyboard per day on the one hand, and I always bring my mechanical keyboards with me to any workplace I'm at. Typing efficiency goes up and hand/wrist stress goes down. They're not cheap (more like the $150-$200 range) but if you spend days attached to a keyboard your hands will really thank you for making the switch.

This is what I use for work: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/34909/ducky-one-blue-gre…

As for a mouse - same goes. Go for ergonomics and precision. It'll differ depending on the size of your hands. For me at work I always stick with the Logitech G300 series. I know it's just a cheap gaming mouse, but the ergonomics, size and weight suit my hand.

Couple this with a decent chair and you're well on your way to cubicle comfort. Remember how many hours you spend trapped in that office…don't skimp on the tools!

MK270. Been using for 6 months at work so far, haven't changed battery. Quality at a low price. No red laser.

    • Thanks battler. I have this model at home. Not bad, but not as good as I'd like.
