people who bought 12 for $6 last week also received a pack of 30. so at over 3 times the cost, its a neg for me

    • But isn't this still a bargain compared to supermarket prices?

    • +1

ozzie can you see it somewhere cheaper that's available now?

    • ozzie, what do you mean?
those that bought 12 for $6 last week got delivered 12 + 30??

    • +1

Bought 24 for $11 last week… like you, received a pack of 30. However, the expiry date was 10th July 2010. Just received them today.

      • Oh what? =(

But from the site(http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27141), it said:

"Best before Aug/10 - plenty of time to scarf them all!"

I haven't received mine yet but I don't care how many I receive, what's the point if I can't finish them all by myself…

The time to the expiry date has been decreased from 40 days to 16 days (assuming we receive it soon).

        • +1

yeah, they wrote a note and apologized and threw in the extra pieces as compensation. Gave it to people at work and made some people happy.

      • great, we paid $11 for 30 while others got it for $6…

    • +3

It's ok to neg if you still live in "last week", but we don't.

    • this is a better deal than last week.
this one actually has the real expiry date =P

    • +3

i bought the 24 for $11 last week, but still haven't got mine yet.

So let me get this straigh..

From what i can gather of these comments above mine, if you bought 12 for $6 last week or (like me) 24 for $11, then you received 30 in the mail?

So those people that spent less money at COTD were rewarded more?

      not impressive…

  • where's my buenos from last week? =[

    • Should be within this week. The lollies that I ordered from them on Friday were dispatched today according to an email

    • waiting for mine too :(

    • I put in an order as soon as the order popped up on here and it still hasnt been sent.

July 2010 expiry ? Heh. Thats pretty damn soon :P

    • +1

  • haah, not sure about that…i ordered mine too hasn't arrive yet :( so didn't know if you are so lucky!

  • 30 bueno's set to expire next month? hmmmm… might be a bit of a tough ask haha.

  • my lollies have not arrived as yet, bought last Thursday, hope for the best

I wonder where they made in? Australia or imported from some 3rd countries?

  • I haven't received mine too!!

The candy will arrive soon guys, no need to be paranoid. This is COTD, they will deliver.

As for anyone confused, there was a crazy deal some weeks back, but this is still good, so buy away guests!

  • Paid last 17 June, and still under processing ?! the price is cheap, however the service is poor ! I want it for the Worldcup !!!

  • Hilarious how they add the text at the botom
"Best before July/10 - plenty of time to scarf them all!"
as july is 7 days away, so about 4 buenos a day?

    • if they are like the batch I received - they will expire 10/7/2010.

  • My Chupa Chups arrived today. :) (23/6/10) Waiting on Mentos.

  • eating mine now. the 30 pack was a nice bonus.

  • I haven't received my pack from last Friday.

  • +2

The expiry date is just a precaution for legal reasons. As long as it's store safely and sealed, you can still safely eat these well after the July 10th date. Aka: it's a very conservative estimate of how long they will last before they go bad and cause problems.

In my experience, chocolate doesn't go 'bad' in the traditional way people think (causes illness or changes taste). Chocolate tends to harden and develop a lighter powdery coating. It doesn't have the same texture, but will still be fine to eat.

I wouldn't hesitate eating chocolate that's stored properly and months out of date. Wouldn't say the same for meat however :-)

    • Yeah, I think some (a minority of) people need to be educated on Best Before vs Use By.
Considering this is a best before date, and given the double layer airtight packaging, you could probably leave it for another 2 years and then some, and it'll still be fine (In a cool dry place of course).

I'm going to put one in a time capsule under the construction of a high rise building and write a note to whoever finds it to jump in his time machine back to the year 2010 to tell me what it tastes like along with the lotto results from the next two years

  • too bad I'm on a diet right now.

  • The bueno is made in Italy yeahhh..
