AliExpress Dispute

One of my parcels hasn't arrived from an Ali express order, not a big dollar amount but it is holding up a project I want to complete soon. Brief run down is
purchased on the 7/9
shipped on the 8/9
the tracking number they provided says it left china on the 14/9
6/11 I requested a refund as the package hasn't shown up.
The reply I received to my request.

(。˘•ε•˘。)
your parcel is on the way to you
please don't worry and wait patiently ok?
it will arrive you soon
"could you please kindly cancel the dispute for us now ??it hurts us heavily
we can solve the problem via communication , dispute help us nothing but harm."
thank you~
ps:::
—Please cancel the dispute (you can open dispute again)
—Don't accept the dispute (not able to open dispute again, the order is closed )

I am inclined to think if it hasn't arrived after 60 days it's not going too and I don't want to prolong the process any longer so I will reject their proposal of canceling the dispute, The only reason I can think that it may still be on its way is that they sent it much later than specified and provided the tracking number of a different parcel to make it looked like it shipped on time. Does opening a dispute "hurts us heavily" or are they just trying to get out of providing a refund?

It's a trick of seller the soonest you close dispute they will not do anything anymore. I think the time is long enough you can escalate to AliExpress to customer service.

    • Thanks, it sounded suspicious to me but haven't had much experience with the AliExpress dispute process.

      • Same here. I don't know the exact way in dispute process, but don't ever close just because the seller ask you to or promise anything in return. You simply don't get your item.

  • Had a similar situation recently, they ended up instantly refunding once I said I would be required to escalate the dispute further if they can't recent the package that was lost in transit.

They're very dodgy, don't ever close the dispute unless you receive the package/are satisfied.

  • Two separate items I've ordered from Aliexpress have taken 6+ months to arrive. They were both very cheap so I just wrote them off after a month. Was super surprised when they did turn up. I think they were held at customs for unusually long.

    So yeah, you never know.

Edit - and yes I contacted the seller and got a very similar response. I think with the free shipping with China Post they just have no insight once it's dispatched.

  • I had a dispute recently. One out of two items was faulty. They requested a video of it which I provided then they offered me a $2 USD refund (on a $12 item).

Long story short, even with the video, AliExpress would also only back their final offer of a $5 refund. For an item that was useless.

I gave up, raised a dispute with my credit card and got a refund for the whole order.

  • I originally had a bit of sympathy, thought it could be some poor Chinese guy who is missing out because of an item lost in the post but he has over 100,000 transactions so should have margins built in for items gone missing in the mail. Also has quite a bit of feedback saying the item never arrived. They say they should be intervening shortly if we can't come to agreement so will see what happens then.

  • Should be OK… usually AliExpress items take too long to arrive but it's sitting with AusPost for maximum time.
AliExpress is good with resolution i have ordered multiple items and only lost 1 item and one was faulty; for the lost one i got full refund and for the faulty one after sending the video i got a replacement with a faster mail service
