      "Sutton Forest Sampler pack reduced to $124 for this week only'

    • +6

      internet archive has original price as $135.

      https://web.archive.org/web/20160508172842/http://suttonforeā€¦

      but this bit does not compute.

      "Individual selling price is $165"
      "reduced to $124"
      "$60 SAVINGS ON THIS WEEKS SPECIAL"

      • Looks the the savings quoted is on the individual selling price inclusive of the bonus 2x200g scotch which is $18.79

        The real savings if you purchase by midnight Thursday are

        Sutton Forest Sampler $135
        2 x 200g Scotch Fillet $18.79
        Total = $153.79

        Now = $124.00

        Savings $$29.79

      • It includes the price of the bonus scotch fillets - thanks!

        • Can you really call it "bonus" if you pay for it? Maybe you should call it "discounted"

  • +2

    Lamb = $12 a kg
    Sausages = $7
    Chicken breast = $9
    Bacon = $9
    Pork fillets = $7 a kg
    Sirloin = $15
    Mince $8
    Whole chicken $7

    Total price on this should be no more than
    $74. You could even replace the sirloin with Kimberley Red Sirloin or an f1 wagyu mfs9+ for the same price!

    • +6

      Care to share the name of the butcher where you could get all of the above for $74?

      • +5

        Please also note the quality of the meats - this is not comparable to the Supermarket meats, please refer to our quality statement above.

      • There is no butcher that you get all that for $74. Woolworths budget cuts is the only place and even then never seen $15 Sirlions or Boned lamb for $12kg.

        • Yes there is, infact there are HEAPS. This is down here in VIC though.

          If you dont think there are places like Vics, Sardes etc then you're not an avid shopper.

      • Char char char has saltbush organic dorpa lamb leg for $12 a kg (will butterfly for free) 100000x better than the lamb offered here.

        Vics can help with everything else.

        Sardes is a great place too.

        Vic wide meat supply is good too.

        Tiptop butcher is cheap

        This is just to name a few.

      Guys, this Aston Martin DBS on sale for a hundred bucks is a ripoff. I could buy shoes AND an opal card for less than half that!

      • The Aston Martin doesn't usually sell for $111.

    • +1

      Bah you are kidding $7 sausages $7 Pork and $15 Sirlion that's a joke right were are you shopping at the bins in Woolworths?

      • I could name around 10 butchers.

        Could even get a saltbush dorpa organic lamb leg for $12 a kg!

  • No added growth hormones

    No added but has growth hormones.

    • +2

      Yes. All animals have growth hormones. It is how they grow.

  • Price in title plz

  • no use of antibiotics

    That's a worry. So the poor cows who get infections get left to die?

    Delivery Costs:
    NSW - $12
    ACT - $15
    QLD/SA/VIC - $22

    Seems very cheap - How does this get delivered?

    What stops it "going off"?

    Is it frozen or fresh?

    • Delivered in refrigerated vans in cooler boxes with ice packs!

      • -1

        You should tell people that. I couldn't find it on the website. Buying meat online is scary… but non-chilled chicken could actually be deadly!

        Also, if I lived in (say) Bourke, would they really deliver it to me in a refrigerated van for $12?

        And I like how you avoided the question about frozen or fresh :-)

        • Sorry, didn't meant to avoid the question at all - all of our meats are delivered fresh. It's actually here on our website under 'delivery info'.

          'All meat is cryovaced for maximum tenderness and flavour and depending on product can last up to 4 weeks in the fridge. Each delivery will be ice packed and sealed in a recycled polystyrene box to ensure maximum chillness upon receipt. All items are labelled with a used by date.'

          http://suttonforestmeatandwine.com.au/pages/delivery

          It seems you have many questions, so if you'd like to give me a call so we can discuss, that might be a bit easier? Details below.

          http://suttonforestmeatandwine.com.au/pages/contact-us

        • @SuttonForestMeats:

          It seems you have many questions, so if you'd like to give me a call so we can discuss

          Sorry, I'm not in the slightest bit interested in ordering meat that might sit on my doorstep for an unknown period after delivery at some undisclosed date and time :-)

          And what happens if nobody is home to accept delivery? I just cannot get my head around the whole concept of ordering fresh produce in this way.

          So I guess I'm just the guy asking the questions that other people don't have the guts to ask. So, resolving the fears of people like me will probably help your sales.

          Anyway, the delivery via refrigerated van to Bourke … $12, huh?

        • @llama:

          Yes, it is $12 to deliver to Bourke.

          We set a delivery time with you that works - all delivery times are scheduled well ahead of time and the customer is able to negotiate this accordingly if need be. We can always deliver to a location other than your home, so we have flexibility when it comes to our customers orders.

          Woolworths and Coles also deliver fresh produce this way - naturally, being specialists in meat, we wouldn't use a method that didn't work - or we wouldn't have any customers at all.

          Now, if you're not interesting in ordering and feel the need to continue being quite negative, then feel free to call and chat - always happy to have a friendly, constructive discussion and walk you through any additional queries you might have.

        • @SuttonForestMeats:

          Now, if you're not interesting in ordering and feel the need to continue being quite negative, then feel free to call and chat

          Don't consider my comments are negative. I am simply not confident about handing over $124 to some random company I have never dealt with, and one of the primary reasons for that is because I do not understand the process of delivery of the order.

          If it was electronics from China, no problem. However this is fresh produce, and it's not made clear within the promotion how everything works.

          Your intention of a "sampler" is to gain new online clients to increase business. If you don't make it really easy, totally 100% clear and create the feeling that it's "safe to buy", then most people will just click away.

          You seem to make a massive assumption that a brand new potential customer will somehow inherently know what process you use to process and deliver the order. You don't disclose your delivery methods, delivery timeframes, or how the (fresh) product is packed and maintained in good condition. - How would people know that you ship once per week?

          So, my comments are to get you to think about how you could better present the "how it is done" aspect of your promotions. All that might take is a LINK in the deal to the "Deliver Info" page that you mentioned. I read the OP (above) and I clicked the link to the deal page I couldn't find anything in the OP so I even went to your website and found no info there either. Perhaps it's linked, hidden in some Help Menu or FAQ but I didn't find it (EDIT TO ADD: see my next post for why!).

          Most people will not say a word… they just click "Back". Remember your original objective - to increase online sales! So, rather than the defensive attitude, why not take the comments on board and think of ways to improve that communication of the things that might worry new buyers.

          How could these comments that I make be considered in ANY way as being negative towards you?

        • @SuttonForestMeats:

          OK - I just worked something out.

          I'm posting this extra comment to HELP you to improve, so please take it graciously….

          Today I am typing this on a normal PC computer with a wide screen, however yesterday I was reading Ozbargain and then opening your website using a tablet and mobile phone.

          When your website is viewed on a tablet, phone or other "narrow screen" device… the entire top menu, as well as the link to the Checkout completely vanishes. So there are no visible links to "Delivery Info, About Us, Blog, Contact etc.

          See this screen shot: http://i.imgur.com/n8QgSuf.jpg

          You can test for yourself - just open the website in a normal web browser, then resize the window narrower. It also vanishes if you load the page in a wider window, and then ZOOM IN - which is how I would have read it on my phone. It doesn't seem to matter what browser is used, the menus vanish in the same way on my devices.

          Hence, when I read this deal then opened your linked page and website there is no (visible) links or information whatsoever about delivery methods, etc. Therefore I had no choice but to make the assumption that this information was not being disclosed for some reason.

          That's why I was asking what you might consider "negative trolling" questions above…. to get information! I wonder how many other potential clients have experienced the same as me, but not said anything?

  • Do you deliver to Callala Bay South Coast near Nowra, and if so what day is it delivered want to get Ham as well?

  • +1

    I received my order today from previous deal, meat was fresh and arrived in one of those foam cooler boxes with ice packs and ice. Delivered to Vic with very minimal ice melt. Had the sirloin and lamb cutlets for dinner, taste was great.

    • -1

      So it took a week for them to deliver it?

      • Orders dispatched every Wednesday for all interstate orders :)
