So long story short, i took advantage of the recent cheap flights to Europe and bought through BYOJet, but the reference numbers dont work on the Virgin site?
Does anybody know if they aren't trusted and if so what to do? Or if I'm just impatient
When did you book your flight?
Some of these aggregate websites take your money at the time of booking and send their own reference number.
Then they book your ticket with the carrier - so your PNR (6 digit alphanumeric code) will emailed to you once your ticket is confirmed with the airline. It could take a few days.
Straight from their FAQ:
How do I know if my booking has been successful?
If your online booking has been processed successfully you will receive an email with an attachment containing your booking confirmation.
If you do not receive this within 24 hours of purchase or if are having trouble opening or reading the attachment, please contact us.
Please do not attempt to rebook if you are unsure if your booking was successful. Please contact us before you make any further travel arrangements.
Go to 'Check My Trip' and use your BYOJet numbers on there. There will be a VA reference number somewhere there that should work on the VA website.
Was just about to say this, the same thing with eDreams bookings. No possible way to manage your booking however (eg seat selection)
I checked a few times on my mobile and it did not work after i got my email last night. tried this morning on desktop and it worked. its the Airline Reservation Code on the eTicket Receipt you need to use on https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/bookings/manage-my-boo…

Those frantic seconds of waiting after you tap in the reference code from the third party into the airline website…..
I also recently made a purchase over a short trip with Opordo and the reference number isn't being accepted by that one? Slightly confused.
try on desktop instead of mobile, i used mine on mobile dont but work on desktop

Call them - you will get an answer much faster and more reliably by asking them direct - 1300 BYO JET (1300 296 538)
