This will be my first Christmas in Aus and I was wondering when the best time to buy a PS4? Not the new Pro version. I'm from Canada and normally the best bundles were around Black Friday or Boxing Day.
Bundles are better value but don't always come with the games I want. All I want is Battlefield 1 and NHL 17. I'd just sell anything else that comes with it.

Harvey Norman has a deal on amex, spend $300 get $100. Try around christmas time if HN has a deal, then use amex with it.
They get cheaper and cheaper.
Honestly you can wait 3 months and save $50 on the price but how much is 3 months of gaming worth?

If your not itching to game now then agreed with mavis - you can wait or pay a little bit less but forgo gaming for a few months. Given price seems your focus - wait until Christmas sales. over the next month leading up until Christmas just peel your eyes for a good deal.
If nothing jumps out at you most likely you can pick up something on boxing day on the sales - its the one time you can really drive a bargain and sales assistants at places like jb hi fi will bend to you when you 'nominate a price'. your best chance for picking up a cheaper price on the ps4.
I have the original one that came out too, haven't thought about buying a pro yet. I think it's a bit shoddy having different versions, the old ps1/ps2 days you eventually brought out a slim line version, but I hope they don't become one of those shoddy companies where if you want the VR experience, or suddenly the 'pro graphics' you have a whole new model out there. Just money mining if so and undermines the whole console feel from older days gone by if they stay making it a have and have nots of the more powerful versions.
I would also consider if interested budgeting, VR, camera and glow sticks.
You can buy mine if you are in SE QLD. I was about to trade it in for PS4 Pro at EB tomorrow.
Got mine for $270 new. Doubt it'll get any more significantly cheaper than that for at least awhile.

Australia used to have Boxing Day Sales, but not any more. The best sales in that period will be just before Christmas.
Christmas coming up very soon, best to wait til then :) Also another eBay sale is likely in the upcoming weeks, so you may even find a better deal with that
