Used Sedan: Kia Cerato S Auto vs Hyundai Elantra Active Auto vs Toyota Camry Altise

Getting quotes for kia and hyundau used cars 2015 model, less than 30k kms for $13-15k range.
For Toyota Camry Altise its 2014yr, around 50kms.

Test drive and couldn't make much diff :( so wondering which is better one?
Advantage of Kia is 7yrs warranty Vs 5 years of Hyundai.

PS : only after sedan, not less than 2014year (no Nissan, Ford, Holden)

The OP is referring to OEM warranty, not a dealer based warranty.
Most dealer based warranties are not worth the paper they are written on and lock you into a service agreement with said dealer.

  • Thats a tough one.
As you would have noticed they are a some what similar car as they share the same platform.
IMO the Elantra is a more visually appealing vehicle, however the kia's additional 2 years of warranty has some weight.

It may be a case of jumping on the best offer that comes up, be it the Hyundai or the Kia?

    • thanks, and sorry was editing post to include Toyota Camry Altise option while you typed response :)

      • Camry is closer to a full size sedan.
        2.5L 4cy.
Toyota AU still only offer a 3 year OEM warranty.

I would only consider the Camry if the Hyundai/Kia are too small for your needs.
Camrys in this day and age seem to be orphans compared to days of old.
You may need gets as much fruit for your dollars with the Toyota product.

You may also consider the Mazda 3 sedan.
Again a 3 years warranty, however a step up in quality over the Koreans.

  • If you can't tell the differences, I'd go with the one that has more warranty.

  • If you're keeping the car for a long time, or driving a lot of kms, then pick the longer warranty IMHO

    • Yes and No.
Hyundai offers a 5 years unlimited KM warranty.
Kia offers a 7 year upto 150,000km warranty

      • I probably didnt clearly state what I meant. Longer time or longer kms depending on what his driving is going to be. My fault for posting quickly when at work lol.

  • Camry is the most reliable and cheapest to service and repair.

    • not should if the 2.4L is cheaper to service but my 2005 V6 spark plugs are quite time consuming to replace and expensive too.

    • What information are you basing your claim on?

Camry is a bigger car though than the other two…. not really in the same category.

    • Agreed, not in the same category. A better size comparison for the Cerato and Elantra would be the Toyota Corolla sedan. I'm surprised you couldn't notice a difference driving the Camry vs the Cerato/Elantra. My dad's Camry is vastly different to drive than my smaller sedan. It has a wider turning circle and you can feel the difference in power when accelerating.
