Thanks TA and EC. Did this and got 5 shirts delivered for $105. I know they're no Lewin, but very nice deal!
Did you click with cashback link to get 8% back
Of course!
Did this on their last offer of 4 for $100, put in around 20 shirts of my size (no size search option?) thought that was a bit OTT, so deleted a few, got to 10 shirts and the total was $230, so $23 a shirt then 8% cashrewards so $21.16 = Unbeatable.
Delivery was 3-4 days in a good box and shirts excellent (although one was oversize kept it to go with fat man pants)Do you wear them regularly, and how well have they held up?
Only ironed and worn them all once, have to watch the collar tabs don't fall out (very loose) in washing machine (they give spares) but they are nice and crisp to the feel and better than my older shirts
Including custom sizes?
Could not see any iron-free shirts just easy care (less ironing) otherwise I would give them a go - usually buy Marks and Spencer.
That's the OzB spirit
Too busy looking for bargains to waste time ironing shirts!i quite like the TM lewin iron frees from last weeks deal
Yes I saw those, looked OK a bit more expensive
Costco sell individual VH shirts for around $23-24. So those that are members are better off looking there. They Also have Ben Sherman, CK and other premium brands for all under $30
"premium brands" …. :\ Still think that CT/TM lewin are better value at $35-40
While that's your choice to spend more, I'd much rather save the money and actually see and try them on in person. I've never had an issue with quality and yes they are "premium" brands. I'm not saying your wrong but your comment adds no value without an explanation why they are better.
sorry, an explanation then as to what I think Ben Sherman, CK and most of whats available at costco are lacking that makes them not "premium"
- quality material (sometimes its basic cotton, other times a poly/cotton blend)
- fit options
- collar style and cuff stylesMy opinion is based on ownership of several Ben Sherman shirts, and looking at a CK shirt in store several times, and not being impressed enough to buy.
Thanks for your reply. I might go in store to check TM sizing. I gave been tempted by there sales but never ordered because of this. I'm in need of replacing a few shirts soon
@4agte: highly recommend TML when you can get them for $40 and under. You can find them in some Myer stores, but not all. Its a bit easier to try on sizing in a myer than one of their own stores I find (less pressure anyway). They have about 4 or 5 different fits for each size so it might be a bit of a process! start with slim fit in your usual size and work from there
@WillisAU: Are they some sort of weird budget Ben Sherman, cos under $30 for Ben Sherman sounds incredible, might head down myself. All the ones I've bought from DJ's are great quality.
@ONEMariachi:
Nope, they're great shirts. I just bought 2 shortsleeve ones for $25ea a couple of days ago.
Van Heusen is no premium brand.
I didn't say VH was a premium brand. I referred to other options being premium
PSA - Van Heusen usually only have 6 buttons down the front not 7 so anyone with a long torso (like me) will find they constantly come 'untucked' at the front (not a good look!).
I've since moved to Charles Tyrwhitt for 7 buttons and wait for their sales / bargains.
agree! it also has short sleeves. so short that I have to roll them up otherwise they look like 3/4 sleeves on me. VH seems like it was made for stumpy people.
Yes even their long sleeve versions have short torso. Pretty piss poor and why I stopped buying them.
Try TM you can pick sleeve length and i love the fit (i have square shoulders so CT tends to pinch at the back). TM slim fit does the job for me!
Really, they are the longest I've ever found lol!
I'm tall (194cm) so always find it hard to get shirts that fit. Recently I bought some Ben Sherman from Myers as they fit as good as I could find. That time I tended to go away from Van Heusen because they seem to only have poly/cotton, and I wanted full cotton.
But anyhow, the best I got VH to fit in the past was I think size 41 and 93 sleeve. I think 41 is the slimmest (not very admittedly) that comes in 93. Their euro/slim size does not come in long sleeves from memory.
Would have grabbed some if I saw this deal earlier.
Will read through this post to see what other people recommend for us tall people…
I've found that problem with a few shirts recently, so thanks for raising that. I think part of the cause for me is that the route the shirt takes from the collar to my waist is no longer quite as direct as it once was.
Van Heusen do have some shirts marked "longer length" which are better but they are really hard to find. The only times I;ve been able to get them is at David Jones and only in white.
CT are better.Yeah they do but I find even these are not long enough :) They tend to have longer sleeves but not body.
Cheap!
There is a separate style with longer body lengths which also have longer sleeve lengths. Hubby finds they just about fit him. But he prefers CT brand.
BTW, do you recommend any casual polos or tshirt brands that have longer body lengths? All the tall tees we have bought are really not good quality and have a very teenager look to them.I buy "Polo" polo's but they are about $70+ each hahaha but have a longer body. I buy an L size.
Longer tshirts I get american apparel ones or threadless.com
Been ozbargained? A lot of "out of stock" messages on the business style shirts…
Do not buy from Van Heusen, very poor quality! just waste your money. I bought 6 shirts for $150, and was quite happy with the price until I started wearing them. They looked okay in package, but once they are washed, it took me 15 mins plus to iron one shirt, even after that, there were still many wrinkles which I could not get rid of, and it supposes to be "Easy care". Now I only buy shirts by T.M.Lewin, you may spend a bit extra for it, the cheapest deal I saw on Ozbargain was $34 only few days ago, but definitely worth it.

So you neg because you don't how to iron a shirt… well done -_-
Buy these shirt on your on risk, other people should be warned, a bargain doesn't mean it is cheap!!!
k
I agree. Bought 4 shirts at their store in Sydney and I could not remove the wrinkles of their easy care shirts. The Kmart and Lowes business shirts are better.
Mine seem fine and I get them ironed by someone else, drop in 20 shirts that the month done takes 30 secs
A bargain doesn't mean that it is cheap! people should be warned.
Noted
Thanks for the post but only one is 100% cotton. No deal for me.
I purchased a few VH shirts a couple of years ago on a deal and they are fairly low quality. I've found it's definitely worth paying a little bit more when TM is on sale, as the quality is vastly superior.
Pretty much all good the 86 sized sleeves are gone
Does VH only sell business shirts, or they also have casual ones?
I do also want to point out that Myer have an extra 40% off shirts on sale, so there are a number of VH shirts that are down to 20.97 if they have your size.
would anyone know if they offer express shipping? I cannot find the option for express shipping yet on their site it says standard and express
Will checkout Myer for the Dinner shirt I have been after; I bought a BS polo from Gold Coast DFO outlet, it hopeless for $30, it's even no match for the Charles Wilson Polo at $12
Dot forget $20 off your first purchase over $60 (or with new account )
