I believe this is currently the best price for the 512GB 950 Pro.
Beats eBay prices even with 20% off.
It's only a shame they don't have the 256GB version.

It's out of stock
Ahh I see, cheers.
The 256GB is also slower than the 512GB, and both will be out-gunned by the second tier 960 EVO when it arrives. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/09/samsung-ssd-960-pro-e…
The question is, will it be worthwhile when 3D XPoint Optane SSDs are on the horizon? Personally I'm leaving the M.2 slot on my new build open for that instead.
these have suffered massive delays done expect them out untill 2019…
Those delays pertain to the memory DIMMS, not the SSDs.
Could be right. But those were the really really fast ones
Great deal.
Excellent SSD - Very fast :) - Just make sure you set your mobo up with UEFI for super-fast boot times.
How does this compare to a intel 600p? They have a 1tb version for $100 more than this.
The 600p was designed to be a budget line, so it's quite a bit slower than Samsung's current highest tier. It's also TLC compared to the Pro's MLC, so less reliable. It's more comparable to Samsung's TLC EVO line.
Pros:
Read speeds are essentially as fast as a 950 PRO
You get more capacity for your dollar
Your SSD is less likely to throttle due to the slower write speed
Same warranty duration as its MLC competitors
Cons:
Write speed is 'only' as good as a top tier SATA3 SSD
You won't be winning any benchmarking contests
It's got a green PCB
1TB is attractive as the MB is limited in slots for these SSDS, and even with TLC, before you wear it out, you will have upgraded to 2TB. If you look at the life expectancy of TLC of the DRIVE not the cell as a whole, you won't wear them out before you upgrade.
Have one of these…Works well.
Although if I was in no rush I'd get the sm961, only problem is it's back ordered, with stock not expected till end of the month.
"Beats eBay prices even with 20% off"
Shows what a scam the eBay sales are.
Thanks for posting OP.
To be honest I am surprised Shopping Express has such a great price on this - Normally their prices are quite inflated. It almost feels like a mistake from them.
Not denying some of the 20% off eBay prices are a scam, many are not though :)
They are now out of stock.
Samsung already released the 960 pro and evo(Not yet in Australia i guess). Price of the 950 pro will drop more and more, especially when the 960 evo is same/better than 950 pro.
Samsung 960 PRO just released.
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-960-PRO-Internal-MZ-V6P512BW/…
agreed, these are bound to go down in price in the next 2-3 months so worth the wait IMHO.
Two new models coming out:
- 960 PRO that qoqqqq linked is top tier
- 960 EVO is the second tier.
The 950 Pro's launch MSRP last year was USD $350 (for the 512GB model in the deal OP).
The 960 EVO's launch MSRP will be USD $249 for the 500GB model.
And that second tier 960 EVO is better/faster/etc. than the 950 Pro in the OP.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/10698/samsung-announces-960-pr…
So I'd expect the 950 Pro's to come down a LOT LOT more once the 960 EVO is out.
I currently have the exact 512GB 950 Pro in the ShoppingExpress deal and love it. But if I wanted another one I'd definitely be waiting a bit.
And it says its ship to Australia to. Good find.
Anyone who went from a traditional SSD to one of these, can you comment on the performance increase?
Can't wait until Amazon start under cutting the IT industry by 30% next year in September
Isn't this it?
