  • Looks good and different.

Pros: Looks, screen size, 4400mAh battery

Cons: Heavy, big phone, no sd card.

If the price is right, i might get it.

Just putting it out there that is not a brand new design, sharp did it a few years ago.

having said that is still look quite nice.

But they're asking iphone 7 price though and their photo taking functionality is not on par with iphone/samsung.

So ya price needs to be right.

    • not really iphone price, iphones about 50% more (would have to compare with iP7+ 256GB), but still, $1000 is a lot. I wouldn't pay that much, unless maybe they were available instore here with full Aust warranty.

Samsung started off selling cheaper devices that resembled Apple's, now they have there own design.
Xiaomi seems to be innovating there own design now. Hope there prices stop going up, like how Samsung's did.

Xiaomi Mi Mix does look good, though 6.4 is too big for my liking.

Take into account the 91.3% screen-to-body ratio 6.4 inch screen fits in a smaller frame than you might think.

Still big at…158.8 x 81.9 x 7.9mm but only marginally larger than the

      iPhone 7 + 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm, 5.5 inches 67.7% screen-to-body ratio.

    • Yeh…
I the phone considering 6.4 is big but it is all screen phone… which when you will grab it in hand…will not look that huge…

  • for a phone that has a ceramic frame this is going to be a big concern

"Keep in mind that the Mi Mix is made of a ceramic, which is a somewhat fragile body material. And its display apparently isn’t made of Gorilla Glass or coated with sapphire. A case would probably be useful for this thing and maybe even some kind of extra glass protection layer. Really, you’re just going to have to accept that there’s often a tradeoff to our dreams. We might think a bezel-less display is the future we want, but in reality, we’ll going to just end up in a cracked screen nightmare."

  • Biggest problem with expensive Xiaomi phones - resale value.

In terms of hardware, while they have all the latest hardware the polish is lacking. I mean when you have the old Galaxy S6 shooting better photos than the latest Mi5s, it's a problem. MIUI is OK, I just switch to a Global ROM, install Nova Launcher and forget about it. Locked bootloader is also a problem if you want to do some advanced tinkering. Dual SIM dual-standby is what I want but for current Xiaomi phones, if you want expandable storage you'll have to sacrifice that 2nd SIM slot.

As others mentioned earlier, the Mi Mix has a ceramic back. Ceramic is super slippery so you'll absolutely drop it at least once (and break the screen) if you don't use a case. Of course if you do put on a case then you won't see or touch that premium ceramic material, or those 18k gold rings.

  • Is this going to be cook top hot?

  • I'm looking to buy the xiaomi mi mix.
I know there are other competitors such as the Samsung S8+, huawei mate 10 pro and iphone x, but the mi mix has something that attracts my attention.

The large 6.4" screen and 4400 mah battery, i am a power user who likes to turn all signals on, watch loads of youtube, google map and so on.
I haven't looked much into the OS skin overlay MIUI, but i was wondering if someone could comment overall on the day to day usage of the phone, especially the piezoelectric vibrating ear piece.
Can people hear you when you are using the phone as an earpiece and is the quality passable?
I am someone who doesn't make much phone calls, but a phone with a poor earpiece is not a phone, period.
