In the last few days there have been a few small items that have had great value because they can be purchased in GBP (from Asos, and on Chromecast audio etc). I'm wondering about other arbitrage opportunities that exist due to the GBP's fall. Years ago when I was working in London, and the pound was trading almost 2:1 vs USD, and guys that I worked with would buy a luxury car in the US, have it shipped to the UK, transfer the steering column over from one side to the other (all using an agent), and still make a killing as they would sell in the UK for such a premium. Of course there was some currency risk as the whole procedure would take a few months.
Any thoughts?
