How Much Should a PS4 Be Worth, Used?

Selling my PS4 so I can upgrade to the PS4 Pro when it releases.

I have it listed on the Facebook Marketplace at $350 with the intention of selling for no less than $300.

It's in great condition having nothing gone wrong. It's one of the first models of PS4 to be released in early 2014. 500Gb hdd, all cables and maybe a game or two.

Is this too much to sell at or am I selling it at a fair price?

Cheers

EDIT: sold it for $300 within 12 hours. I was either lucky or it's worth that much second hand. Showed the guy it works on my TV etc and he gave me the cash and promptly left. Felt like a shady drug deal or something lol

Depends where at, where I live, I've seen a PS4 go down to 200 bucks for 500gb (no games) all cables, no controller. Usually gets bought within an hour though, so probably under worth.

FYI I paid $359 for a 1tb PS4 at target completely new and its one of the newer models.

Considering the slim is already out and the pro is coming out, I personally would see the 350 price on facebook and just kept scrolling pass.

Big W seems to be selling it new for 350 as well new. I'd definitely pay the extra for new.

Thats not to say you definitely won't sell it, but for me its a no unless the games are pretty good.

  • Recently they've had the Uncharted and Deus Ex bundles for $399 which included 1TB, latest model, one game, and warranty. Your 2-year old 500GB, pre-owned, no warranty, for $350, not looking great. You might get lucky, but you might also have to wait a while.

I wouldn't pay any more than 300 for one of the first ps4 models released no matter the condition. Good luck though I bet someone will anyway.

  • I had a similar situation to you. I listed mine at $300 which included everything plus original receipt, box + cables and 3 games. Lots of low-balling to endure. Had a reasonable 280 offer but someone snuck in willing to pay 300. Lucky me i guess.

  • Hard to say, always a chance you find someone who for whatever reason needs one ASAP and will pay good money, but I'm thinking 2 year old PS4 (presumably no box or controller, right?), I think the best you can hope for is $250.

    • no box but it does have a new controller because the original one died

Put my 500GB launch model out on Gumtree about 3 weeks ago - went for $300 on the day. If you can't sell it for more than at least 250, you might as well do the trade in deal at EB - if you're over level 3 you'll get an extra trade bonus.
