I purchased a bicycle just before the last long weekend, can't recall what it was (About 1 month ago).
Bought a decent bicycle for $149 from Kmart Mt Druitt. The brakes didn't work.
I returned to a different KMart (Local Kmart), and told them of the issue. They apolgoised. They advised the bike doesn't even have a break pad, hence it isn't working. (I'm not too knowledgeable with Disc Brakes so I didn't know this - Don't laugh). Anyway, they said can take up to 6 weeks for new parts to come from overseas.
They can't give me another piece as it was the last stock anywhere in this area (Within 50km at least). Anyway there was a lot of back and forth trying to come up with a solution to get this bike back to me quicker.
Staff didn't do anything. Eventually raised with Manager and he did something weird. He managed to secure another bicycle (He said that one of his friends from another store "owed him a favour") and so he managed to get hold of the bike. Then he took the brakes of that bike and put them onto my already assembled bike, gave me $50 voucher goodwill and PERSONALLY delivered the bicycle to my house…IN HIS OWN Audi.
I wasn't home when the delivery came…but my Mother told me it was an Audi… I'm assuming Q-Series since it was a decent sized men's bike.
But surely I can't be the only person who finds this weird? (But awesome!!!)
I was really thankful to the guy by the way. I made sure I left positive feedback for his manager to see.
Thoughts?
This is so cool!
