MGS lawn mower from Masters. Feedback?

I can't find many reviews on these mowers from Masters. Specifically, I'm after any review on the MGS625EX which has the 150cc Briggs and Stratton mower.

I think the engine is a safe bet, which is the main thing. Would like to hear about the chassis though.

I believe it is reviewed by Choice but I have no account with them.

Cheers

Good points • Quick-release folding handle.
    • Comfortable upturned handle with rubber grip, but it's too low.
    • Easy to push and manoeuvre.
Bad points • Only OK performance for cutting long grass.
    • Only OK mulching performance – when mulching short grass, it leaves a row of it behind without mulching it.
    • Requires a fair amount of effort to adjust the cutting height due to the heavy spring loaded lever.
    • Starter cord mounted on the motor is not particularly easy to pull and requires strength in the shoulder.

Thanks very much for your time in grabbing the info, Snook.

I've had one of these for nearly three years now. Haven't had issues with the chassis or engine, I recently had it serviced and still starts first time every time etc.
For the price I paid I'm very happy with it.

    • Cheers, much appreciated.

Was it a self priming model? Heard there are issues with these when warm. Wondering if I should stick to the 550E

      • It has a priming button I press a few times on cold to start it. Warm it starts straight away.

  • For those interested, picked the 625ex at Masters for $345 after failing with a few local mower shops to get the price anywhere near that for the same engine
