Hi guys, I stumbled across Honey.
It claims to search the internet for promotion codes while you do your shopping online. Might be handy for us oz bargainers on the fly.
Just wondering if anyone has used it before?

I've found it to be pretty bad, RetailMeNot is much better. Also it redirects you to affiliate webpages so you can't use another cashback site. It's cashback rates are crap.
Haven't used this yet either, but next time i buy something ill give it a go.
is this still considered less than useful?
Mostly just annoying.
Every site you want to use or buy now waits for 2 mins while it cycles through all its useless codes.
I have never found a successful code, maybe its just too US-centric

Hey,
Listening to the latest Harmontown podcast and they mentioned a browser plugin called honey (props to Harmontown by using http://joinhoney.com/htown ) which apparently applies coupon codes automatically at checkout and also advises if a product you're about to buy can be found cheaper elsewhere.
It sounds pretty amazing, I'm yet to install it as I'm still commuting to work but I'll install it as soon as possible.
Has anyone else come across this plugin? Do you recommend it?I tried it.
it does try all codes which it knows about. - which is good.
however it doesn't know all the codes on the internetz.
handy if you want something and it's not posted as a deal on ozbargain, it will do a search for other codes and automatically test them and tell you which one is best..
but does not guarantee it will be the cheapest/best code available.

Found this extension a few days ago, I've only tried it on the the inconic and a few surfstitch sale items, it couldn't find and codes for the iconic and the ones for surfstitch made it more expensive.
It does have good reviews though and I'm willing to keep testing on other sites..
