The plan includes:
$160 in talk & text
300MB Mobile Internet Data
Rollover Your Unused Credit
Unlimited mobile talk & text 24/7 to other Virgin Members

There's no such thing as Jailbreaking an Android. Jailbreak means you circumvent Apple's security to run what you want off the phone but because Android is open-source and encourages development, you can do what you want. It just comes down to breaking Apple's restrictions.

Breaking a phone isn't illegal, but doing so to scam paid apps for free definitely is, and falls outside the 'Jailbreak' umbrella.

I just asked a virgin shop at westfield chatwood, they can give me a $35 iphone deal + 3mths access free. very tempting me. I feel very damn that I already join a iphone plan last Saturday without any promotion !

    • ooh.. sad to hear that.. did you know iphone 4 is coming soon before last saturday?

    • What do you mean by the 3 months access free? does it mean you pay $0 instead of $35 for the first 3 months?
And how to negotiate to get that offer?

      • sounds so good. 1 of the guy said in broadway there is telechoice new shop that offer 1 month access free (zero for 1st month).
if correct then onebee means 3 months free.! wow
i'll go to chatswood if this is true

        • Chatswood's telechoice also doing same 1mth access free promote. but sounds the Chatswood virgin shop have a better deal.

I just asked the sales guy can they combine the $35 iPhone plan and the 3mths access free promote to me. they said ok. but just for you only :p

        • thanks onebee

    • So could you let us know more details ? Like the shop name etc ……..

There is a Virgin shop at Westfield,Chatwood,NSW. Just down stair from JB Hifi.

  • Bah, still got a year to go on a contract with Virgin on some lame Nokia they talked me into, hated it within the first month of getting it. Would jump on this but don't want to pay the rest of the year out to get it

  • feeling more tempted each day, should i leave liveconnected for this deal? the offer includes unlimited talk and text to virgin, virgin are on the optus network, is it unlimited to anyone on optus network? if it is, im signing up!

    • is it unlimited to anyone on optus network?

      No

  • Anyone knows how much they charge for excess data

    • 0.2c a KB… or $2000 per GB.

Not included in the cap value either.

  • This is a great deal if you are a light user. Virgin doesn't block voip, so you can get around the high call rates to non-virgin mobiles ($0.99/min + $0.40) with skype ($0.19/min + $0.07), should you exceed the $160 included (rollover) calls. The included 300Mb of data will give you about 20 hours of voip calls and virgin give you an additional free gig/month for the first 3 months if you ask nicely :) There may be better deals ahead when the iphone 4 comes out, but right here right now, this is as good as it gets !

    • I'm new to voip, how does that work exactly?

      • +1

        VOIP - Voice Over IP

Uses data networks for calls instead of mobile networks - in this case, your calls would use the data quota instead of the talk/text quota.

On this topic, what is a good VOIP app (that can use 3G and WiFi) for a non-jailbroken iPhone?

  • how much are we expecting the iphone4 to cost on the cheapest plan when it comes out?

    • Lowest is usually the $49 cap on Optus, plus $10-15 handset repayment per month.

  • Gonna see if I can get this tomorrow!

edit: Didn't end up going at all haha

  • no unlimited calls to anyone on optuss network makes baby jesus cry :-(

    • But you can get unlimited call to virgin mobile :)

      • i dont know any of my friend that on virgin.. most ppl now wit optus or 3G

        • That's probably why it's unlimited. XD Optus has stricter terms for their free calls..

  • Anyone know if this iPhone would be locked to Virgin and how much it would cost to unlock if it is?
And would anyone know if phones locked to Virgin would work with an Optus sim?

    • +1

I tried vigin sim with Optus locked Iphone , it worked . So I think optus sim should be used with Virgin locked phone .

      • Actually I meant the other way round.. as in, a phone locked to Virgin, but using an Optus sim card?
Or are there no such things as virgin-locked phones? (only optus locked?)

  • Was just told a few minutes ago this deal has now changed to the $45 rollover plan.

  • Gone!!!!!!! deal is withdrawn yesterday 6.00 pm

  • luck for those who got on

    was a great buy

  • what ??? oooohhh too late

  • SO QUICK!!!!!!!I was thinking to have a look during the weekend. …

  • Wow that was quick, was thrown up between buying this offer or the new iPhone 4.

Does anyone know if the iPhone 4 will be out on Virgin in Australia though? Just 'cause I love their 24/7 free texts and calls virgin to virgin, and a couple of my mates and my family are on Virgin, so it's perfect.

  • FYI Google, Facebook, Gmail and the likes aren't working on Virgin Iphones atm, been like that since Saturday!

    • ive been using facebook on my phone since your post its on virgin…
BTW awesome deal (when it was active) i picked up a sexy white one.

  • you can still get it on 35 some shops. my friend just got one. phone around. hassle. :)

    • Which shop was it (Telechoice, Allphones, Virgin) and where? I've tried all the shops nearby with no result

    • PLEASE tell me with shop it is? and also it is in Brisbane? Sydney? or Melbourne?

      • Yes, PLEASE, let us know where it is.
Was in Bondi Junction Westfield and asked 2-3 stores. No luck.

        • YES!!! I am going to Chemside tmr to try my luck….

          • @eleana: you can ring telechoice and allphone shop to try you luck. I did try telechoice shop at chatswood westfield and chatswood chase, they said $35 plan already gone. but one of virgin shop said this plan will come up again at this weekend.

            • @onebee: Thanks!!! Hope what THE virgin shop said will come true.

            • @onebee: Thanks for the info, but why you didn't tell us which virgin shop said that?

      • This was a melbourne telechoice store. not sure which one. But another post has been listed on ozbargain saying 35 rollover is back on. So im assuming it will be 35 rollover all stores.
