Here are some tips of winning the OzBargain competitions :)

Post really good bargains. Yes, the good exclusive bargains available only through family and friends and requires special hand shaking at checkout always win the prize.
Post about Domino's vouchers or cheap airfare. They seem to get good number of votes. Nobody can resist a cheap pizza on a cheap flight. Nobody.
Post lots of prizes. When you don't have the quality, try quantity. Everyone can get up to 5 entries in the weekly lucky draw.
Write a good description, and be prepare to answer comments. When there are more discussions, it gets more visible, and might even get more votes!
Post your deal on your own blog, or email to all your friends, with a foot note "pssst, please vote for me".
