An outrageously expensive, unwarranted, life-threatening, non-binding public opinon poll on an issue that is already beyond determined.
Bill Shorten has also introduced a private member's bill to legalise sam-sex marriage the last 2 years running. So you could say it is Malcolm Turnbull's fault same-sex marriage hasn't been legalised due to his party's rejection of those bills, and their failure to introduce any such similar bill.
