Hi guys,

Ring up Citibank 24/7
Just use it for something at some point, then pay the balance exactly from another account.
I did something similar with ANZ and they advised me to transfer the positive amount to my bank account. no charges applied.
Just tell Citibank to do it for you. Visit a branch if there is one nearby or call them.
if you withdraw using online banking or ATM - you'll be charged cash adv fee - no interest (as it is your money)
to avoid any fee - call citibank and get a cheque or spend on your card
I don't think citi allows to transfer anything from credit card balance via online banking.
what??? I could transfer money from my CC to another account - did they stop doing that?
Looks like it. It's a PITA, now have to use an ATM, then ring up to get the cash advance fees waived.
Online chat worked well for me yesterday. Log into your account to initiate. BTW you are covered for fraudulent transactions in a positive balance. But you wont earn points for spending.
Hello, I couldn't find "Online chat". Once login, under "Contact us", there is Send A Message but it is not online chat.
If it's a Citibank Plus card, just withdraw from an ATM / EFTPOS at woolies etc. No cash advance etc issues.
He refers to putting it in positive, so clearly suggests a credit card, not a debit card.
I was in a similar situation and I contacted Citibank by phone and they happily transferred the money to my existing Citiplus account. I received surplus funds the following day.
I am sure they would have transferred it to any other bank account in Australia other than Citibank.
I visited branch but they refused to do it. Phone banking also refuses to transfer. Only thing they can do is they can send it back to my ANZ card.
Same happened to me last week - Going from citi to St George (chasing sign up points!)
I just continued to use the card for purchases until the balance was nil.
But I like the idea of calling and getting the cash… sounds like interest free money….. ;)
I can nto spend $20k to be precise..:D
If this was intentional… you sir are a superstar! Haha
Yes you can laugh.. But finally citibank completed transfer of amount to my bank account from credit card balance.
@pyramid: Now I got the same problem. I phoned customer service and was advised they don't have such option…
@hongd: chat with them and message them from your citibank account. This is how it worked for me.
From what I've seen of the online banking, it's not possible, you can't use a credit card as a source of funds when making a transaction.
Try for a cheque to self? or ring the helpline
