Hi,
The fast charger that came with my HTC 10 died. Phone is less than 6 months old so it took it back to the Telstra store where i bought it. They organised a replacement and called me when it arrived but when i turned up it was a Telstra branded non-fast charger they were offering as a replacement. When i questioned it they said that the said that the charger isn't covered under warranty and that they were giving it to me out of their own pocket.
I would have thought that it would have to have a minimum warranty but I'm unable to find anything to back myself up. And I also would have thought that it would have to be an equivalent replacement part.
I know that often the battery and accessories have a shorter period that the main product (which i still feel should be debatable) but are they right?
Can someone point me at what I assume would be consumer law that specifically tells me my rights for stuff that was in the box when I bought my phone?
It's not the end of the world or anything. I just feel like I have been had so it keeps running around and around in my head. Happy to be wrong if I'm wrong.
Read through this discussion (JB Hi-Fi ignoring Guarantee claim, going to see Consumer Affairs tomorrow) - different store, different accessory, same issue
Never got an answer from the OP about a resolution though
But yeah, covers the same discussion that will be in here…
