Same monitors as this deal, but another $200 off…

I cannot edit that deal so I've asked for it to be closed and opened this one.

Dell online sales staff are poor. "Claudia" told me they were sold out shortly after I posted the last deal.

However "Sree" today tells me they have 32 in stock as at 1pm 26/10.

The bundle number, DFO-XT1WDAU, is the same, so they were never sold out despite what "Claudia" said.

They only have a 1 year warranty and are "as new".

Brand new ones for $1269 + delivery here
http://cplonline.com.au/dell-up3017-ultrasharp-30-ips-monito…

IMHO the $170 + delivery extra for brand new with 3 years warranty is worth paying - however $1099 is a pretty good price for these DFO units…

PS: These aren't likely to sell out in an hour :)

  • Do they come with a free alienware laptop? $1099 for a used 30" display is just ridiculous but as long as people are happy to pay it…

    • Used is not correct.

"As New" can mean it was returned unopened from another order. It can also mean the box was opened but the monitor not used.

It does not mean it has been used then returned. That is normally sold as "Refurbished".

The fact there are 32 of these monitors suggests to me it was a large order that was cancelled or fell through somehow. That is also what Dell online sales are saying (for what that is worth).

If they just were returned unused there is no chance dell wouldn't sell them as what they are, brand new.

Have you ever actually bought anything from Dell?

Do you actually know anything about how they work?

You seem to be making statements that are not correct. I am wondering on what basis you are making them?

FYI the USA Dell Outlet definitions are here:
          http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/22/campaigns/why-dell-outlet…

          Outlet New
Outlet new products are factory sealed products that were either new overstock, canceled or unopened returns. Dell Outlet new products do not have any cosmetic damage.

I can't find the same definitions for Australia, but Australia's "As New" is the same as USA's "Outlet New"

        • Selling them as new, is exactly what they're doing. Right now. On their outlet store. As per this very thread that you're replying to !!

Considering the price history of the last gen, this is a pretty good price.

      • Agreed, although 10 years ago when the first Dell 30" monitors came out, there was precious little competition.

Now there is plenty. These 30" are very very good, but they don't have the high refresh rates or G-sync that a lot of gamers now want.
Also there are heaps of cheap non-Dell 28" monitors going around, and plenty of 34" gaming monitors…

I've owned a 3007, a 3011 and now a 3014. Been happy with all of them, will be adding a 3017 to the list sometime fairly soon…

        • There's not plenty of competition for 16:10, though. If you're into that ratio this is one of your only choices.

  • "PS: These aren't likely to sell out in an hour :)"

LOL, too right. Your last deal saying it was sold out by the staff was dubious to me. I have been keeping an eye on the stock level and the it keeps staying around 30 units a week after you posted your last deal here. Must be poor salesmanship by that so-called Claudia to try getting people to buy, otherwise it meant you were lying in your last deal (which I don't believe you did, right?).

    • I took Claudia's word for it… Having a chat to her manager later today…

    • How low do you think these puppies will go?

At $899 I am definitely buying one.

I've seen a few people "upgrade" from a U3014 to an Acer or Asus 34/35" G-Sync

But several of those people admit that when not playing FPS games, the U3014 is a far nicer monitor.

I'd be interested to hear anyone on OzBargain with experience doing that…

      • At $899 it definitely will be sold faster, obviously.

I do agree not everyone wants a 100Hz+ G-sync monitors for gaming especially if they don't play many FPS games. I recently decided to buy the Dell U2715H monitor rather paying $1K for those AOC/Acer/Asus 27" 1440p 165Hz monitors with questionable quality control, because I don't play too many FPS games.

if one was to choose between P2417H or U2414H which would it be?

    • +2

The U denotes ultrasharp. That is the best Dell make.

It depends on your usage, but if you want colour accuracy and picture quality, the U2414H is going to be better than the P2417H

      • Yeah but is the $50 difference worth it? Is the P 6-bit and the U 8-bit?

        • +1

I've got a P2417H and I can tell the quality is different than my Ultrasharps that I use all day. Personally I wish I had of spent the extra $50 straight of the bat as it's now my primary monitor at home due to moving my gear around. If you don't have an ultrasharp sitting next to it I doubt it would really matter.

        • @Trewq:

By quality are you referring to specifically the colour accuracy?

  • P2417H 159 good price

  • Any idea why it's so cheap on the CPL site?
