    Get a pre-purchase NRMA inspection at http://www.mynrma.com.au/motoring-services/motorserve/car-se….

    MTA inspection at http://www.mtavehicleinspections.com.au/

    http://www.sydneyautoinspections.com.au/ is Sydney Auto Inspections.

That's the first three hits I found for where you are, and I'm in Adelaide :-)

    Good luck with the purchase.

    • These inspections never find any real issues with the car as they only inspect the car from outside. IMHO it's a waste of money unless you can't open the bonnet and tell the difference between battery & engine.

      • I have had them done for three cars, and rejected one based on the report.

All reports were quite comprehensive, so I don't know who you paid to "only inspect the car from outside."

  • Best to get pre-purchase inspection service.

These threads are SO FRUSTRATING. Does nobody realise that each State and Territory has a completely different scheme for transferring ownership of cars? And also a car will be worth a different amount depending on what State/Territory it is located in, and registered in?

In Victoria and Queensland, you'll need an RWC. Are you in one of these states? If so, does the car come with one? Especially in Victoria, RWCs are quite strict so if it has one of these I would be mostly happy with its mechanical condition (save for wear-and-tear items like timing belts, for which you will need to check the service books).

If it is registered in NSW, it will have needed pink slips since at least 2013. When did the car last get a pink slip? can you get a copy of that report? is there anything that will need doing for its next pink slip? if it is coming up to rego time, it will need one soon.

All that being said, $9,000 for a 2008 Accord Euro in good nick with that kind of mileage is a good deal - go for it.

    • Hi sorry about that. The car is registered in NSW. And it got rego so i think it should pink slip.

      • when was the last pink slip issued? a car can get a pink slip 6 months before rego is due, so a car could go 18 months without a pink slip inspection. 18 months is a long time for issues to crop up in a car.

Calm down man no need to get frustrated. Obviously OP didn't know that and that's why we are here.. to help.

  • He will be here in a minute with sagely advice. that trains never late.

    • I too am waiting for Spackbace.

In the meantime, the OP should look into getting REVS, a friend, and maybe NRMA inspection.

  • Take it for a test drive and make sure vtec kicks in.

If it kicks in with no smoke and surging then you are onto a winner yo.

I would go for MY10 (2010) models and onwards. These come with black dark matching rear parcel shelf. 2008 and 2009 came with beige. You also get remote wind down windows from 2010 onwards (holding unlock button on remote to wind down all the windows).

For that price is that the base model or the luxury model? Manual or auto. If I recall the earlier models had pinging issues. Check if they service the car on time. Look through logbooks. Auto should have frequent transmission fluid changes. Check engine oil level. Earlier models burnt a bit of oil.

2011 models and onwards have face lift changes - different front bumper, headlights and tail lights. Maybe you might like the newer look? It should have resolved earlier issues.

If you don't know how to check you should pay for someone to have a look. A friendly poster above provided links!

    • "You also get remote wind down windows from 2010 onwards (holding unlock button on remote to wind down all the windows)."

My MY2006 Accord Euro has this feature.

      • It's a great feature :)

On the CU2 models 2008 and 2009 missed out

    • Hi Allan,
Both of them are auto and standard model. Both interiors inside are dark. The 2008 has logbook and its been servicing with honda dealer uptodate. I dont know about the 2011.
Both are white colour. They look similar to me

      • Oops I made a mistake! 2011 MY12 had the facelift doh.

With that in mind I would really look for 2010 models and onwards.

Also check the side mirror still dips (where you adjust side mirror flip the switch so you can adjust the left side mirror) then put it into reverse. It will auto magically move down to show you the kerb. You can also adjust this to get a better look at kerb. Put it back into drive and it should go back to normal

I don't know how fast you need a car or whether you can wait for a better model. Out of the two cars I would consider the 2008 if the logbooks and inspection checks out and you don't mind missing out on the windows thing and mis matched interior.
