Hi Guys,
I've never really been a fan of fitbits but due to consuming too much 'bargain' chocolate etc (haha) I am considering getting one. Don't want to spend much but just want something basic that will do whatever they do…suggestions please…

essential.
I see and why is it essential?
…because if you don't get a device with a HR monitoring abilities you will want one pretty quickly.
I think heart rate monitoring could be considered essential in the sense that if you're working out for health and fitness, it's good to get your heart rate up. Having a heart rate monitor would show you that information.
It allows for significantly more accurate calorie counting.
Also, if you're training with heart rate zones, it's essential.
I would personally recommend a Xiaomi mi band 1s , or 2 if you want the time displayed. I had a fitbit before but the 5 day/1 week battery life was a hassle.
The fitbit zip and jawbone up move both use coin size batteries that last months. I switched to the move from a fitbit one and have been pleased. It was about $30 new on ebay.
I suggest buying the cheapest and see if you use it.
My partner got sick of hers after a month or two.haha i got bored of mine too - as an activity tracker. However i use it now as a silent alarm and incoming phone call notification as my phone is 95% on silent . very handy.
Well I am happy to consider any brand that does the same stuff…
if you have time to wait, i posted a Mi Band 1s deal from Zapals for $14.66 delivered. a lot of people said they've experienced delays by buying from this site but I've always received my orders :) but if you shop around you should be able to find it on different sites as well.

That's a silly reason to get one, it won't cause you to lose weight.
Also they're wildly inaccurate.
You're phone probably already tracks steps for you or an App for it will
With the fitbit you are essentially paying for the name.
Then again my surge has been through all the wars and im sure a cheaper varient would have failed long agao.I keep it on all the time bar sleeping. I work as an industrial electrician and i needed something that can notify me of a text or call because of the loud environment and it works very well and the vibration is strong…. neat feature is the ability to read the text on the fitbits screen.
Battery life 4 days
I am a fan of the Charge HR which I have seen as low as $140. It is the one with Heart Rate monitoring too which I think is essential.
