Hi guys,
Hope someone knows what to do. A cat has snuck into our roof and gave birth in there. I can hear them meowing away. Not sure if mumma cat is still in there or not.
I pulled away some tiles but cant see them. Any ideas?
Thanks

Dont think that works for baby kittens
think of them as "bonus insulation".
Or free bird/rodent protection. Just don't mind the smell or feline urine, think of it as an aromatherapy.
Google it. e.g.

Speak to the local council, animal refuge shelter or animal rescue organisation.
Called the local council, they told me to call back after hours. Rspca referred me to them.
Can't you go up into the roof through your manhole? It might be possible mum cat can't get back up there once she got down, probably for water.
Got a drone equipped with camera? Maybe fly in there and do a rescue mission.
Just need one of those crane arms attached to the drone, then it becomes a game!
At least you won't get any mice in there.
Chuck a snake up there. That will sort them out
But what if the snake gives birth as well… then its double trouble
Then send in an eagle to eat the snakes.
could try a thermal imaging camera if you happen to have one? Or just quite and listen carefully, hands around ears to enhance .. actually works…
You think his kids are playing a prank on him?
I need an update on this thread.
Bikies….
I hope you can rescue them, and keep them safe and warm, and feed them and cuddle them at night
Carbon monoxide will do the trick then follow the smell and put lime on the carcasses. (I'm joking BTW. Just baiting the animal welfare dudes).
Lol, reading through these comments is hilarious. So helpful you guys.
Called nigels animal rescue and he quoted me 350 to extract the kitten. Council and rspca wont do anything.
I ended up going back to the roof and lifted a few more tiles and found 3 quiet little kittens. The fourth was stuck inside the walls as he climbed through into the space that seperates the ground and thr first floor. Being seperated he meowed constantly.
I stuck my hand, used a butterfly net amd managed to rescue the last kitty. I gave the 4 kittens to a neighbour who knows the mum, and a few days later they found the mum as well. Whole family is now with RSPCA.
Good on you, mate.
Best outcome for all of you.
Put a tasty tuna snack near the entrance
