Despite their sub par in store service to borderline unethical price rasing practice I miss Dick Smith. It pretty fun getting their email and their deals on OzBargain. Buy ever since Kogan bought them they just seem a bit fake. What do you guys think?
Does anyone else miss Dick Smith?

1) See bargain here \o/
2) Go to store: no stock
3) …
4) There was no profit.
As soon as Kogan sent me their email about Dick Smith, I unsubscribed.
I miss tandy.
I miss the Radio Shack Free Battery of the Month. ;+(
What was Free Battery of the Month?
Tandy Electronics used to sell batteries. Their house Brand was Radio Shack. The Good ones were Red, the Better ones were Green, and the Best ones were Gold.
Anyway, as a marketing mechanism a Card was issued by Tandy Electronics to customers that allowed customers to claim one free Battery a Month.
This could be a "Red" AA, D, C, or 9V Battery.
(I don't think AAA batteries existed then).Later, DSE bought Tandy and then it all went pear shaped.
@holdenmg: That would have been great when battery prices were higher
Radio Shack.
sniff
That's what she said.
Masters.
I don't need to buy their over priced junks and they can't price match properly with their better stuff. So I don't miss a thing.
Not now that Kogan has completely wrecked it's image
I still miss the Dick Smith Electronics from before 1982 and the free catalogue in Electronics Australia and Electronics Today International. As for the Woolworths/Kogan owned DSE, nah.
+1000 - I remember the old store in Chullora in Sydney - techie nerd central - but it's long since gone south now.
I miss Joyce Mayne.
i just miss the $200 i spent on a gift card and never got back
NO.
NO
Way
Jose.
I miss the catalogues with sexual innuendo & puns including… "Get big Dick deals…" or "Surprise mum with huge Dick discounts…"
Lol. awesome find :_)
Hahaha, no.
And my camera phone just accidentally took this photo 2 days ago in Darwin
I don't miss Dick Smith. My last three transactions were disasters and they weren't even gift card related. They shut off their customer service department months before they went under. They dishonored ebay sales and didn't refund before they were even legally allowed to do that. They were clearly trading whilst not liquid but the ASIC/ACCC are so weak. You could see on their ebay feedback when things started getting nasty by them, and it was months before.
I miss pre-Woolworths Dick Smith that had electronics.
Do we miss Dick Smith?
Yes but our aim is getting better all the time
oh heck know only time there was ever a deal to be had was when they couldnt give somthing away!
I don't miss the daily emails from them!
Yes.
Yeah really miss seeing this sale cycle:
Week 1: discounted price
Week 2: RRP with a discount coupon
Rinse and repeat.
It's the RRP stuff that screwed them in-store
